It appears that we have offended you

Post by ssrjosh »

It has come to my attention that the postings by Indianarchy have been pissing people off on fwm.com and the users. I would like to know what we have said/done to make these people feel uncomfortable about having us around. Please help us stop offending you!

No, pretty much they just hate me. Kimaliz is definetly the major hater, ie, hater extraordinaire, if you will. But lesser but still influential haters include john c, agatha10, heshsurprise, and for the workforce. If I forgot anybody, let me know.

These guys have it out for me, their feelings are pretty explicit. And I feel downright threatened. What did I do? You ask. I dont really know, they never really told me, never showed me any examples of what I did and why it was wrong. If I knew, I wouldn't do it. But I still say I didn't do anyhting.

I wish we could all focus on our connections instead of our differences. I am dedicated to harmony and rythme in my music. I am serious about my music and am excited about what I will contribute to Fort Wayne's local scene.

And we are a real band.

Well, that just about proves it to me. I love Indianarchy! they never did anything and all they ever wanted to do was share their music, so stop harassing them. these guys are the lifeblood of the dying corpse known as the fort wayne music scene, but they can revive it! yes they can and scuzzbag's da man!

Please FWM dont take my favorite band away from me! then i'd have to go to blame it on rio shows and id rather die than do that! please fwm! please !

It might be your abrasive personality and the way you throw about strong opinions. That's what I've seen from you mostly afterall.

since when is decisiveness to be looked down upon. Indecision is a sign of weakness. The believers do something while those who cant believe stand around watching.

When it makes you sound like a stubborn, narrow-minded butthead, it's something to be looked down on. There's nothing wrong with being decisive, as indecisiveness is a fault as well, but there has to be some in-between common ground on every issue.

But hey, the question was if Indyanarchy is offending people. I personally haven't been offended, but do find a lot of your posts to be rather abrasive.

thats exactly what i'm trying to say to them! u go right to the core of my grind, FWM.com is the place that we can unite and try to go against this new djing/dance phase that has taken over live music in this town (with the younger crowd mostly), but by trying to spark peoples attention and get them excited about issues in this "scene", i appear to be causing more problems than anything else, I have run into egos that i didn't expect from this town. . and i find it sad, some people won't put their ego aside to just see that i am not trying to make the scene THAT I AM IN suck. . . that makes no sense whatsoever for me to do. . . i want to make the scene better and i have tried, i put on shows with money out of my own pocket as many people have (Sunset a few years back Project Bottlecap, Just Another Joke, Holden's Run, Blame It On Rio, Color By Numbers . . sounds amazing I KNOW but only 80 people showed, no lack of advertising either, sad sad day) and have lost that money because not enough kids came. . . i spent 4 years in a band struggling to find a crowd and to make money (we played over 30 shows and only made enough to buy $350 worth of PA) and i know i'm not alone on that. . . i'm not bitter about it at all because it was the best time ever and i wouldn't have change a thing! i want fort wayne to come around and realize that there is a crazy amount of good bands that are working their tails off to survive and that they deserve the peoples attention because there is some really amazing things going on with music in this town, but like any product it doesn't mean sh*t if the consumer isn't paying attention to it, we need to get peoples attention. . . Indianarchy has been trying to go about this in a different way, our plan was to make people very excited to see us because they like it or very excited to see us fail. . . seems we have shook things up here on fwm.com, when we play a show people will prolly come because they want to see how bad we are, and those people might see us suck, but there will be other bands and it will give those bands a chance to pick up new fans. . . also what we have online isn't our stuff, its only one person playing and singing, it will sound different with full band, faster and more rock value, i just hope that people can letr their guard down and realize that this isn't the meca of music! its fort wayne damnit and we have talent but no listening body but the talent. . . lets change that and get peoples attention, i purpose a massive show to promote this towns biggest talents, i have people in mind that i want to contact for this but i will need help because i have sadly fallen behind on the new people, i want to have a FREE SHOW with the biggest names in fort wayne, ALL AGES as well, on a friday or saturday and early so that the younger people don't have to fight with mommy and daddy, 6 bands that no one can argue with, solid acts that cover all aspects of this town's talent pool, a little rock, a little metal, a little emo, a little hardcore, a little acoustic, and a little punk. . .let me know ur suggestions on venues and artists and sponsorship, also advice on who can help, i want to continue to help keep fort wayne's scene from sucking and revive some interest in it, thanks

I understand what you're saying. I booked some bands at the Sunset back in 2001 and had a minimal turnout. Luckily Matt Brown of Sealing Pandora and kimaliz (FortSAC) have continued booking there and have improved the turnout to shows considerably.

For one, have a talk with scuzz. Pissing off Al/kimaliz is the last thing you want to do if you expect to play at the Sunset.

And yeah, it is going to take a lot for the scene to change. Quite honestly, what I can do is quite limited considering that I live in southern Indiana though and just help out on the occasional weekend that I'm up north.

Overall though, instead of acting punker than thou (as some of Indyanarchy's attitude has come across as, besides, Tri-State Killing Spree has already done that act to death), you guys really shouldn't be pissing off Matt Jericho either. Have you noticed that shows are often co-sponsored by FWM and X102 or FortSAC and X102?

Furthermore, filling out the myspace page might help. The geocities page doesn't work (which might be a good thing as seeing geocities in a title instantly looks unprofessional to me) and there isn't much info on the purevolume page.

Just thought I'd throw that out there since you asked for suggestions.

thanks for the advice! we are currently trying to get the material recorded and then get all of it online for others to hear, then we will let all this creativity crawl onto the pages
i know that pissing matt jericho off wopn't get us on the radio or on shows, but we aren't really concerned with being on X102, not our cup of tea, but as for shows, if we can prove ourselves as a crowd pleaser or begin to get a draw, i think they will have us, but if not oh well, it happens

Matt from Sealing Pandora was my neighbor for years and i went to school with armand so i think we would be able to play at sunset (if we get better of course), as for kimaliz, i don't know what to say, he seemed to take things more personal than anyone, i don't think many people invested their time in taking us so seriously (an unproven band that hasn't done sh*t . . yet) as he did, and im sorry he is pissed

thanks dude for posting!

seriously man, that post was awesome!

grindspine, seriously though, i'm tired of everyone thinking they have to kiss jericho and all these other guys' as**s to get somewhere in the scene. They act like they got the fw scene under their voodoo, but its just a bunch of bs. there is no scene and independent efforts are the only thing that can help it at this point. i dont personally see x1023 as a necessary path towards success. i'll never be on their station and i dont care. as for geocities being unprofessional, thats just an opinion, but i dont really care, it works, i didn't have to pay anythinig, so who cares?

but like ssrjosh said, i'm really excited about playing some shows too real soon.
