Yeah, I haven't seen many that do have the extra number keys...its not a manufacturer issue though, its space. I don't think you'll find many under 17" laptops that would have the space for that.

You can always go to you nearest Best Buy/Walmart/Target and pick up a USB 10 Key for around $10...

It's not that I didn't WANT a Mac, or that I NEEDED a PC...I just thought the Dell was a good deal.

More so that I just love to watch Mac nazis go into seizures when I tell them I bought a PC.

Ollie, buy was many Windows machines that you want. I bought my wifey one since they are cheap and she doesn't like the Mac layout.

No seizures here, if you want to own a crappy machine, that's your choice

out of my range and it just seems a little overkill for me, as this computer will probably be for casual use, nothing too heavy.

any tips on a store i should go to?

Possibly cheaper...

If you can find something in your price range and best buy/circuit city, you might want to check online for the same system, and you might find it cheaper, even with shipping.

yeah, it's really a choice of cost and value. you will get a better system for less money through Dell in most cases. though waiting for something to arrive eliminates that instant gratification of just getting it from the store, you may be able to garner more value for your dollar.

so i decided to get an hp from circuit city.

read a bunch of reviews on it, read nothing but good other than the battery life.

mine will be plugged in most of the time.
