in the pre-draft player rankings, how many players should i pick?

As many as possible. If you get tired of doing it, Yahoo's rankings will pick up wherever you left off.

Say you ranked the top 100...once your 100 players are off the market and drafted, Yahoo will draft the highest ranked player for your team when it's your turn to draft.

how does head to head weekly matches work?

and are there certain players i need to pick each week?

i know i have all my position players and then a few bench guys.

do i need to swap between these two lists weekly, or does it score all the way down the list, bench players included?

and how does pitching work?

check your roster daily. make sure you start players who are actually starting that day.

pitching works the same way. if a guy has a ^ next to his name (actually it'll look like this "@ SD^" that means he is starting. you should play your RP's whenever their team is actually playing because you never know whether or not they'll actually pitch.

scoring is based on what your STARTING players do when they're inserted into your lineup. bench players score nothing.

you can set your roster daily (i usually do mine daily but make sure to get it done before 11am or so) or you can log-in one day and set it for a few days at a time.

head-to-head matchups work like this...here's an abbreviated description.

say these are the categories...

HR (homerun)
ST (steals)
RBI
AVG

TEAM 1 has the following for a given week COMBINED

12 HR
8 ST
22 RBI
.310 AVG

TEAM 2 has the following...

8 HR
12 ST
24 RBI
.298 AVG

The outcome for that week would be...

TEAM 1: 2
TEAM 2: 2

...because each team won 2 categories.

You'll be using 10 categories total, I assume, including stats for pitchers.

Hopefully that sums it up a bit for ya. Let me know if you need any more info.

You're right. I've got a few things going for me...

1.) I'm better than Stuart Scott AND I'm sans-lazy eye.
2.) I'm not Steven A. Smith. This is a definite positive.
3.) Remember Chris Berman? The Disney Company apparently likes fat guys.
4.) Eating contests with Mike Golic would send ratings through the roof.
