Looking to start an Indie/Art/Progressive Rock Band

Post by theraginasian »

So here's the deal, I recently moved to Fort Wayne from Jackson MI for college (I go to Indiana Tech and am currently in the dorms), and because of that had to split from my previous band Elevator (see link below)

I've tried searching up and down around this down for Indie/Art/Prog rock, but all I've found so far is Ultra-Mega Hard-core Death what-have-you. No offense if that's what you play and enjoy, but I think the market is flooded. If Death Metal was a stock right now in Fort Wayne it'd plummet. Let's try something new!

Looking for a Guitarist and a Drummer. I honestly don't worry about the singer until the music is solid. In fact, if the music is good enough I really don't care if we have a signer or not. Instrumental is fine. But I do need AT LEAST a drummer and guitarist to play with. If it's only one guitarist, it'd be nice to have them be able to switch between chords and lead without issue, if its two then we obviously won't have such a problem.

To give you an idea of the sound and band I would like to try and create, here is some name dropping: Cursive, Minus The Bear, At The Drive-In, Radiohead, Broken Social Scene, The Arcade Fire, etc.

Summary if you don't want to read all that:
Need a drummer and a guitarist to start an Indie/Art/Progressive band, read the above paragraph for band influences and desired sound. My previous work: http://www.myspace.com/elevatormusicistheband

Hey, I'm from Jackson, MI originally too. Another guy on here used to live up there too - This Dude (as opposed to The Dude, who's a native son, I believe).

Welcome.
