Everyone's a hypocrite in some manner or another. I find it interesting that people try so hard to prove those who stick their necks out by speaking against something are no better than them. It's some strange brand of self righteousness.

The agreement to jump through all the hoops to reduce "greenhouse gasses" was for nations to sign. What the scientists were asked to sign was a statement that global warming was happening and human beings (especially that g'damned USA) were causing it. That was at the Kyoto Summit that made its recommendation to the UN to push for the Kyoto protocol. Nevermind the other 5400, we're taking the word of the 600 and we're going to make those Yankee bastards pay!!!

Agreed; but Al didn't take a simple step, like choosing available wind energy, when he could have. Most of us didn't make a multimillion dollar movie about global ruin, then fly around the country in a polluting jet promoting it.

If Al foresook the comforts and excesses of Western society and went to live in the woods, believe me, he would get all the publicity he wants for his cause.

Except almost all the automotive companies show records that selling hybrids costs them more then they make selling them.
It might be a valid concern somtime way down the line
So if it has the potential to become a global problem, why not address it now before it is that huge nightmare situation?
address something that most people don't even believe? as stated above many people think this is some kind of joke. how to prove them wrong? im pretty sure there are some statistics which somewhat prove it... ahh you cant believe silly scientists and their statistics. Nor can you believe scientists who dont say somethign you like. ok ok ok. So lets believe the scientists who say this is a natural occurence, seeing how they were alive the last 10,000 years to measure things, or believe the scientists who take actual measurements, facts, and statistics... now im not saying who i have the most trust in  ...but i mean come on. why is everyone so scared to believe something like this? j/ because the "spokesperson" is an asshat?

I don't think anyone is saying they are scared to believe this because Al is an asshat. This was going on long before Mr. Asshat got involved. My concern is and always has been that it is not as big of a deal as people make it out to be, and people take advantage of the situation.

and 20 years ago, the same people were warning us about global cooling, using the same apocalyptic language, of course also attributed to Western Culture and our polluting tendendies.

im guessing you used a scientific calculated prediction... or GUESS to suport your opinion. You cant just say "o this is no big deal" when you have nothing to back it up.[/b]
