WOW!!! Thank you for sharing that. I'm sure it was difficult at times to reveal that much. I pretty much grew up with a real life Ward and June Cleaver, so it's sometimes unfathomable to me that not everyone did. I have utmost respect for you.

. . .

you have left me, of all people, speechless. . .
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.

Oh boy, I'm not very good at taking compliments...but it really means a lot that I got a positive response to this post. Thank you.
I wrote this a few weeks ago and was wary of posting it because it's pretty heavy. I thought I might get the "she's playing the victim" response which is actually quite counter to my beliefs in personal accountability, responsibility, and owning the path your life takes...not to say that I believe each individual's life is completely in their own hands though.
This ended up being a self-help exercise since I haven't really faced a lot of those issues head on recently. Sometimes getting your mind down on paper helps you see yourself better. I started a dream diary a couple weeks ago to serve the same purpose; I thought perhaps it would give me a cursory understanding of my feelings about other things going on in my life.
I know I haven't met many of you in person, but I've been frequenting these boards nearly every day for years, despite my modest post number. I have really come to think of you as a community of friends and peers. And I'm glad I could share. :D

You should come out to gigs and introduce yourself. Many of us do and I have met many cool people this way.

Besides, we need more bright, articulate and open members of the fairer sex to help offset us goofy mooks.

Great post. Self revelation on that level takes a brave soul.

Oh...

Well in that case, I found it semi-quasi-mildly interesting.

:P

My favorite part:
and I had to clean the lunchroom for a week because I wrote the lyrics to GNR’s Civil War on a lunch table.

I got kicked out of 8th grade math class (pre-algebra) for playing air guitar to metallica's "master of puppets." she said i was distracting her - keep in mind i stress AIR guitar, as i was making no sound. if i would've been playing "one" it never would have happened. Two Four Two Oh.

Your story is so touching, I cried when I read it. I'll not detract from its beauty by saying anything more. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

I'm not sure what kind of local shows you go to, but I'll probably venture out to most of the Battle of the Bands nights this year. And I enjoy talking to well seasoned  locals, so perhaps our paths will cross.

The thing I find amusing is that you actually remember which song you were playing air guitar to.

I wonder if Batman and Robin were religious or not. I'm not savvy on my comic trivia. Thank you for the comments; I've gathered you have mad skills in the butt shaking department. I'd look ridiculous if I tried. Hats off to Marie, the carefree woman with a huge heart! You know, I envy you sometimes.

It's nice to see more people comfortable with open forward honesty. The last thing I feel like doing in life is repressing thoughts and feelings. I doubt I'd have much to talk about if I did. Pleased to meet you. :)
