Brett Favre = Retired.

Well, either that or he's going to quickly demise and Madden has no one to talk about, and therefore doesn't burn nearly enough calories by talking about Favre to offset his eating habits...MrSpall wrote:This just prolonged John Madden's life by five years. Now who is he gonna burst a blood vessel praising?

thats unfair.
clemens was such a prima donna.
wouldnt come to training camp because he felt he didnt need to.
didnt sign with a team until they payed him 5+ million more than he was worth.
wouldnt travel with the team when he wasnt pitching.
no class.
brett favre was the epitome of class.
only thing he ever did was kept people waiting for a little longer than they should on his decision on wether to hang em up or not.
clemens put himself above the game of baseball, f*ck him.

If so, name another player better suited to my description.rezin wrote:ouch.Sankofa wrote:and was second only to Roger Clemens when it came to milking the "will I/won't I" retirement circus.WBOB wrote:Great QB,...played the game the way it should be.

I agree, Clemens was and is a schmuck getting his HGH comeuppance right now, but Favre played the retirement game up until near the season's start many times-jeopardizing his team's future.clemens was such a prima donna.

i think in favres case, alot of the retirement talk came from the media and sources other than favre.
he just never really gave straight answers when asked about it.

his last throw was an interception that lost the game to the team that WON the Super Bowl. what a way to go out.

Don't be such a hater...the only player that comes to mind that went out well, was John Elway...ummm...Jerome Bettis, I suppose as well.Big John wrote:his last throw was an interception that lost the game to the team that WON the Super Bowl. what a way to go out.
It doesn't happen all that often...so to judge a 17-year veteran, with how many league MVPs and records...plus a 1-1 record in the big game...on his last play...that's just hateful...
Granted, I'm a Dolphins/Marino fan, so I have to endure all the BS when the media (and fans) start talking about how he wasn't great because he didn't win a Superbowl...blah...

that, and the fact that he's now pushing 40. Had he not retired 2-3 years too early, E. Smith would still be chasing Barry's probably unbreakable career yardage record. My best friend had season tickets to the Lions back then and I got to see him play 5 or 6 times in person. RIDICULOUS! and that was on a piss poor excuse for a team. His best Quarterback was SCOTT FREAKING MITCHELL!Sankofa wrote:That's hope talking.deek wrote:Now I still wonder every year if Barry Sanders will come back...
The Lions' inability to field a decent team forever crushed whatever desire Barry harbored.
Oh, back to Favre... 'bout time.
