Hah..I have Manning and Welker as well on my team...and we are undefeated (7-0) so far this season..:)

Has a team ever gone 0-XX in the NFL? Would be cool if the Dolphins got BOTH records...lol...

Would that be 'going defeated'?

Chris
'76 Buccaneers (0-14)

'34 Cincinnati Reds ( 0-8 )...and yes, they were the Reds

'60 Cowboys (0-11-1)

'82 Colts (0 - 8 -1)

'42 Lions (0-11)

'43 Cardinals (0-10)

'44 Carpets [Cards/Steelers = merged team] (0-10)

I'm sure there are more...those were on the first (and only) page I researched.

I'd have to say, no, it would not be cool if Miami had both a "defeated" and undefeated season...

I've got a 150 yard ground performance from backup Sammy Morris that says otherwise:)

I'm not a Pats or Colts fan, but both teams look good, but I'd say the edge has to go with New England.
Let me rephrase what I said earlier.....New England hasn't shown me a consistent running attack. If somebody eventually slows down their passing attack, then we'll see how good their running game is.....

Sammy Morris? Ok, I'll give you his "one hit wonder" performance. Sure, he ran for 150, but he'll probably have 250 total yards for the year.

Mentioning Sammy Morris might actually prove my point.

I really look for the Colts to take 'em down.....Oh, before I forget - GO STEELERS!!!!!

An interesting game next week,... to say the least!

Closer to a Super Bowl caliper game than any other regular season game this year.

Who totally crapped themselves this week when there was no power at channel 15? lol...that sucked...Not as much the lack of game since I can watch on Yahoo, but also the fact that I was the one on call and WE had no power also...:)

Anyway...next week is THE game of the year...let's hope the ridiculous routing of all of these teams by NE makes them take for granted the upcoming game...and in turn I hope the less that stellar play by the colts in the early part of the last few games makes them more determined to be at their best.

I was honestly worried this week (yesterday) as I watched manning go 0-fer for only the second time in the first quarter over his career. Not since the Hester return in the bowl had I been that nervous at a possibly loss coming in the game...

HOWEVER, in typical Colts' fashion...they started to 'click' and it was game over for the other team...

GO COLTS!

I was freakin' out until about 1:10 when I decided to turn over to the WANE HD channel and found that the game was on there.

Are you sure this was a Wane TV deal? Anderson lives in Montpelier and I'm pretty sure they don't get FW stations there and he said it was out at his place, too.

Should be a helluva game........I just can't see it being a one-sided game. I'd be pretty pissed if New England ran the score up on the Colts like they have been doing to other teams......It's as if Belicheck has something to prove......i really think they want Brady to get the touchdown record & they want to go undefeated, just to prove that the "cheating issue" was a non-issue.

After watching the game yesterday, New England is obviously out to prove that they can completely beat the sh*t out of every team in the NFL. I would be scared for the Colts next week, because as much as I hate New England, you cannot deny that they are really good.

And clearly the running up of the score is a big F.U. to the entire NFL...

Agreed.

On the other hand, though...if I were on the Redskins, I'd want the other team to do what they have to do to score. I look at it as a bigger F.U. if they take a knee on 4th and 2. It's a bigger slap in the face if they just give up because they're ahead, in my opinion.

I had to go to the stats on this one. As of right now, the colts are 5th in the league in rushing average at 140 yds/game. The patriots are 8th at 135 yds/game. The steelers are first, with 159 yds/game.

While I will agree that the NWE players are not consistent, I think that is due a heck of a lot more to injuries. The team is quite consistent.

My comment on Morris was mostly because I started him that week and he won the matchup for me. But between Marouney, Morris, Faulk and even Evans...they do have a lot of consistency in that POSITION. Maybe not a single player, but you're hard-pressed to find many NFL teams that rely solely on one RB anymore.

Again, not a NWE fan, but I'd be surprised if any team is going to slow down their passing attack this year. The colts matchup will be good. The only issue is that if NWE gets out to a lead, their D is good enough to slow Manning down...can't say that for the Colts D.

The Colts D isn't exactly a pushover. They're ranked 4th overall in the league (272.9 total ypg...including 165.4 passing ypg allowed)

The Colt's are built to defend and put pressure on the passing game. Their defense is at a disadvantage whenever Freeney & Mathis have to sit back & cover the run.....they are going to be set loose on Brady for the entire game & I look for them to drive Brady nuts......For that reason, with Bellicheck being Mr. tricky-dicky, you might actually see New England come out running & attack the gaps that will be once again left wide open by our defensive ends over-persuit.

The only reason New England has any sort of a running game is because opposing defenses have to constantly play the pass.....If anybody team could actually stop New England's passing attack or if they have a bad-weather-day, then we'll see how well they run the ball.....Everytime they were in the red zone this past Sunday, they couldn't punch it in by running it.

This game's ok..........Personnally, I can't wait for the Steelers to play New England in Foxboro in December.
