In the Mount Lebanon town of Baysour, the public secondary school headmaster Mazen Malaeb told Xinhua that the school's administration decided to apply the two-shift system to be able to accommodate more Syrian students.
The Lebanese students come in the morning while the Syrians enroll in the evening shift. The school currently accepted 558 Syrian students, almost the same number of Lebanese students in the school.
A group of young Syrian children are taking a dance lesson in the schoolyard. The dance teacher Selvana Matar told Xinhua that " these Syrian children fled the war in Syria, and we are trying to help them to forget this tragedy by getting them involved in joyful activities."
She added that the curricula in Lebanon differ from the Syrian one as the English language or French is taught at early stages which drove us to develop a special teaching program for the Syrian students.
Matar explained "they are facing some difficulties because they were not used to learn English in Syria but only Arabic. They experienced difficult conditions and of course they were influenced by all of these things

Although these Syrian students are refugees and suffer harsh living conditions, but they still have ambitions and dreams.
One female student told Xinhua that she hopes to be a fashion designer while another student said she wants to be an English teacher to teach the Syrian students English.
Asmaa, a 14-year old girl said "I'm living here in Lebanon with my mother and my father; we are receiving education here in the Baysour governmental school. Here is better for us because we are learning English and Arabic too."
