977 seatbelt violations = $$$$$!!!!!!

The rest I could care less about. If you're driving intoxicated, suspended, speeding, etc... I want you off the road. If you won't stay off the road, I want you in jail. If I choose not to wear my seatbelt I endanger no one's life but my own. If you choose to drive drunk or too fast, you endanger the lives of everyone else on the road.

The law has already been passed on seatbelts, so its not your choice to opt out. Well, you can, but its illegal and therefore, worth a ticket.

I'm in the same boat as you are, and until this summer, drove my truck with no seatbelt on (as it was still legal to do so with truck plates). Now, I wear it about half the time, and if I get caught, yeah, I will moan about it, but it is against the law...

If Fort Wayne police would set up a red light sting more than once or twice a year, they would probably get twice that amount. I can't believe the number of jack holes in this town that think the extra minute they save by running a red light is worth it.

Agreed.....

Personally know (2) people stopped on seat belt violations.
Both were of pure ignorance and much deserved.

The truth? The insurance industry gives a lot of money to congressional candidates to ensure congress will pass legislation saving them money. They practically wrote the law in most states, pushed congress to mandate seat belt laws in states or face a loss of Federal funds, pushed the regulations requiring auto manufacturers to include air bags as standard equipment, etc....
