But you don't have beer and cheap bourbonsimpletim wrote:But there is an alternative for these types. Jam Crib has open jam sessions Sunday through Thursday starting at 7 p.m. and you can play all you want. Not the typical wait around, play 3 songs, then sit back down format.Silencio wrote: Most "blues jammers" are middle-aged guys with really nice Strats and good amps and kilobuck pedal boards who sit at home working out every lick on "Cold Shot" or "Crossroads." There is no band for these guys, so they jam.
They also have lives. So a weeknight jam that starts at 10 PM is not going to be well attended.
Why cancel the blues jam when...

not exactly, i mean yeah there are a few roughians but there are also yuppies and normal beer drinkin a**holes, too. and if you aren't someone causing trouble, people will look out for you. i've found most people are friendly, although everywheres got its wierdos.hear there can be a pretty tough crowd out at the a&o.
i know some dudes that go there a bit and theyre pretty rough dudes.
actually last night was a first... somebody got their guitar stolen. so they stopped the show and everybody, and i mean EVERYBODY in the bar got involved in trying to find it or who took it.
so yeah, it ain't so bad.

The A&O is on High St. and if you have never been there you should resign your post as a Fort Wayne 'bar goer'...One of the hidden 'destination' bars in this town, but has been there forever and has stood the test of time.
Not a regular place for me, but I know where it is, and have been in there a hand full of times.
Typical situation that just because some people have never been there it is discounted as a contender for Whammy consideration? I also never knew you had to 'buy an ad' in order to be part of the Whammy's...I thought that was an open competition to EVERYTHING in Fort Wayne...please clarify...

And running for the Republican ticket is an open competition, but you don't see Ron Paul with a chance of it.cwallace wrote:I thought that was an open competition to EVERYTHING in Fort Wayne...please clarify...

=it's name recognition among voters and the people who vote aren't familiar with the A&O just like the A&O's patrons might not vote

I just read his post as if they HAD to place an ad in Whatz Up in order to be included in the competition...
I am not debating that it is a popularity/name recognition contest...I am a firm believer in making your name known to make it in anything...
