underage shows
Hello,
My band and I are under 18 and I am having difficulty in finding places to gig because of the age restrictions in bars. I've found coffee shops but I'm looking for places where we can plug in and not just play quiet stuff.
My band plays classic rock, so we aren't specifically looking for "hip" punk places, but we will play pretty much anywhere we can. Live experience is good experience.
Do any of you know places that feature live music where we could play?
-Thank you

Jamcrib is probably your best bet, however I think you could hop on a bill with some other bands at places like Sunset hall, or hit up the American Legion Shows w/ Bludspyre the put on alot of shows at the American Legion Post 296 on Tillman road as well in Albion @ The American Eagles it is all ages also.

I'm pretty sure you can still play bars. What you CANNOT do is leave the stage area - except at Piere's and there you can only go upstairs to the band room. Even when you're on break, you have to stay on stage or leave the bar. You can't be out in the room. At least that's my understanding of the law. I know there's an underage band that plays Piere's fairly often, and I don't know why laws governing underage musicians playing there would be any different than those governing other bars, unless it's because Piere's is primarily an entertainment venue, whereas most bars are primarily bars that sometimes feature live entertainment.
