Zune vs. iPod vs. Gigabeat - PVP help!

Post by Cale »

I’m looking at getting an mp3 player in the 20-30GB range. I’d like something that’s versatile for personal, Home Audio (docking stationable) and car use (FM x-mitter add on)…an optional remote is a plus…useable as an external HD would be a plus too, but not necessary.

I know iPod is the standard, but I really don’t care to install iTunes on my XP machine (full of wma’s and mp3’s). The Gen 1 Zunes look appealing but seem still quirky and limited in some cases. The Gigabeat (which is about the same hardware as the Zune) look good but limited in accessories. What others are worthy of mentioning?

Every review I’ve read online sounds biased in one direction or the other. Anyone care to share his or her own personal opinions? What do you have and why? What do you like/ dislike about your player?

Sorry I can't help you. I just wanted to say iTunes really pisses me off!

After my 10 gig mp3 player crashed I vowed never to waste my time dumping that much music into one player.

So I went online and paid about $50 for a genericic 2 gig flash player. I dumped PLENTY of tunes onto it, it didnt take months to do it and if it crashes no sweat it was cheap.

i like itunes. i got a 30 gig ipod last summer.. only problem that comes with an ipod is the battery life, but if you get it under a warranty they'll fix it when it goes bad.
