Ditto on the chills. Our first listen was a moving experience. "Love" is expertly done, and showcases three important things about the Beatles: 1. Their extraordinary spirit of experimentation. 2. Their remarkable vocal skills (no AutoTune on those tracks, baby!). 3. George Martin's contribution to ...

Or course it does. It's designed to remind you of bosses you've had. Because it's not real.... it's been attributed to lots of different people from many different companies, and there is no "Zantex Computers" in Oz. The biggest give-away is the first line... the writer claims to be an employee of "...

And I'm equally sure that Larry Norman doesn't "hate" anything.

Why would it? The sound of an electric guitar is almost entirely strings and pickups. I don't see any reason why it would sound bad. In fact, it might be as resonant as any jazz box, depending on how they tricked out the insides.

It was Larry Norman who wanted to know "Why should the Devil have all the good music?" I think Garr is at least partly, mostly correct. To sell in the bookstores, "Christian" music has to promote "Christian" morals or ideals. So you can never write a song about unbridled lust, for example... it has ...

I used to play Henry's as a solo. The room is oddly shaped, highly reverberant, and filled with folks who came in to bump into people they know. I always felt I was too loud, too boomy, covered in audio mud. I'm not surprised they're shutting it down.

I don't suppose that fans of Stephen Jay Gould would find anything to dislike in Dawkins work, unless they were just spoiling for a pointless fight. Of course, I haven't read every word each of them wrote... perhaps there is some underlying argument. Dawkins's concept of the meme as a self-replicati...

Most of my purchases are pro audio, so I like GC (although I did buy a guitar there last November)... they carry stuff I need. For example, I dropped by during the last hour of the Labor Day sale and grabbed one of their last two copies of NI Komplete - a collection of all 13 software synths, sample...

There you go, sir. A click is a placeholder. It's not the groove. But if you can play, you can swing while listening to it.

kimaliz, Please remove that altered quote. I said and would say nothing of the sort, and I don't want a casual reader of this thread to think I did or would. Besides, when referring to someone I find offensively self-important, I prefer the term "jackass." Not only does it have a great punchy sound,...

The question is not "Should you record/perform to a click track?" The question is, "Should you practice to a metronome?" The answer is yes, at least a majority of the time. It improves your internal clock. Since music is completely based on one's sense of time, this is an essential skill. I'm with S...

A man went into a butcher's shop and asked for the best piece of meat in the shop. The butcher replied, "Everything in this shop is the best. Nowhere in this shop can you find a piece of meat that is not the best."

At these words, the man was enlightened.

I like "Volunteers" a bit better, because of the structure of the intro. I think you guys are still not finding your potential. Your violin player is playing too much, for example... drop the bow once in a while, dude. Also, your lead guitar player has a real timing and tuning problem, but I think I...
