With the new band playing a bunch of Meters tunes, I've been picking apart George Porter's basslines and holy cow are they technically easy to play - making them groove is another matter all together. A lot of those songs are one and two chords, or 3 at the most, but they groove like a beast.

Just thought I'd share. 8)

Porter is a master.
Another bass player/album that I found that lays a deep groove(tho a different kind of groove), yet with simple lines is John Baker Saunders on Mad Season/Above. Fantastic album.
