If you see this post in your thread...

...it means your thread will be removed from the boards if the event is not posted. We would like to populate the new calendar ASAP. Since only a few of the more respectful individuals that frequent the site have been taking advantage of the calendar we are going to be policing it a little more.

We appreciate ALL efforts put forth to further site progress. This one especially.

The calendar requires NO admin approval right now so your event will be added immediately. We are also working on the programing that will create a new topic in the TALK ABOUT A SHOW forum when a calendar event is added. This will significantly increase the overall traffic flow through the site and calendar.

It is a small request from a staff of hard working volunteers to the unes who benefit from this forum.

We thank you in advance.

The post to be looking for is:

http://www.fortwaynemusic.com/boards/calendar.php

Please click the link above and enter the information for this show on the calendar. Failure to do so may result in the post being removed.

This is a simple process that has been requested by the admin of the site for several years now.

The calendar will soon be the only place to list shows and start threads in this forum so you might as well get used to it.

If this event is listed on the old calendar is might not be approved and the links to the calendar are being removed anyway.

Thank you!

there was talk at one point about having this thread tied directly to the calendar, which would be tight. especially to cut down on the stupid ass constant bumps from certain bands.

The calendar thing will make a direct post when an event is added. It will then give the opportunity to respond to the event posting...

As far as bump policy...that is a different beat in itself...

The simple fact that the calendar gets a lot of traffic unrelated to the forums...i.e. people going directly to the calendar that are not even forum members...this will reinforce calendar usage and make things flow smoother...

It is a work in progress...

I was working on the coding for the old calendar to integrate it that way, now this calendar is different and I have to learn the program in order to determine where to insert the script that will auto-create new topics for shows placed on the calendar. Then we will (likely) lock out the creation of new topics in this forum, but allow for responses to show topics that were created by the calendar system.

Basically, I need to get off my lazy ass and do some work.
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.
