If we are going to take the time to pamper poor people then we have enough people struggling to eat that are here already legally.

We spend way too much time worrying about everyone else while we fall apart from the inside.

And I am not talking about welfare either. With a few small exceptions, our welfare system is also major part of the US downfall

I'm not saying we should pamper anyone, and I'm not saying we should let the world in, to be good samaratins. I just understand what it is to be poor, have kids and to want something better for my family.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and if that would mean jumping a fence or fording a river to somewhere that I can earn an "almost fair" wage, you can bet I would do it.

I completely understand that too. However, a passion and drive to take a risk like sneaking over the border is admirable and brave but nonetheless illegal. The more we sugar coat the illegals, the less risk future border jumpers feel. We are opening the flood gates slowly. Why dont we just take over Mexico already?

Might as well, we already have Texas and California.

Why don't we just make Mexico fix it's own problems?

Seriously, if we wanted to stop the illegal flow of immigrants, remove their need to risk their lives to leave their country. Unfortunately, we lack the political moxie to do so...since that would mean ticking off their government, and possibly putting US businesses and oil imports under risk.

If you need an example of why more taxes = bad, just look at Pemex.

on a serious note, what do you think of a European Union style setup where we have more free movement between the three countries, yet each is still autonomous? Just a thought and it makes more sense than the current setup.

All of the real issues aside, Hillary is a girl! A WOMAN PRESIDENT!?!?!!? I'm glad we have real issues to argue about, otherwise we'd have to deal with her being a woman.

If you think the objections to Hillary have anything to do with her sex, you are sorely underestimating people. The woman is pure evil.

I would vote for a black/hispanic lesbian with one leg....if she held the values necessary to properly lead this country.

Exactly. And I wouldn't vote for Hillary if you held a .45 to my testicles and told me you'd pull the trigger if I didn't vote for her.

My lord, who the hell approved that speech? What's next, she's going on a tour with Lenin's corpse?

press conferences with Castro.

somebody on the Republican side needs to save that one and use it frequently late in 2008 (I'm assuming she's going to be the nominee).

It sure sounds awfully close to "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs."

Oh definitely. I seriously doubt any of the one-sided animosity towards her has anything to do with her being female. I mean, psychology, political science, and sociology totally validate people attacking uppity women for legitimate reasons as opposed to implicit stigma.
Just follow her history of speeches.
"I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," she said. "I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none."

Damn, you're right. What an evil b*tch!

"There is no greater force for economic growth than free markets. But markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed," she said. "Fairness doesn't just happen. It requires the right government policies."
MARXISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beyond education, Clinton said she would reduce special breaks for corporations, eliminate tax incentives for companies that ship jobs overseas and open up CEO pay to greater public scrutiny.
Seriously, I dont know what she's thinking. She is probably pro-divorce. I mean, I believe in a nuclear family. I believe in traditional values. But then again, that's just me.
