I'm a fan, smoothies and chai ahoy. Workers are hilarious, owner is great, owner's husband is a landscaping expert, I even found the tastiest toothpick of the past 8 months there. Hell, the woman I love works there, they have dope quiche, comfy furniture, the Whatzup Wednesday night, regular updates of the not so easy to find Fort Wayne Reader, tasty smoothies and that coffee stuff I never drink unless said woman sneaks it into one of her blends.

I have a biased opinion, but I feel I've backed it up with research ie going to other coffee shops and checking it out.

I think that the Firefly has the most knowledgable staff out there...I just went to the Starbucks downtown and got a pretty easy drink to make and they effed it up to the point of it being undrinkable.

Presentation wise the Firefly makes the drinks look as good as they taste. Most of the staff does little latte art stuff on hot drinks. (look at it sometime before you let them put the whip cream on)

Food wise most of our soups are pretty good. Our sandwiches are a hella value for how much stuff we put on it. I will say that our fair is rather common though. (except the veggie sandwich which is pretty frickin de-liscious)

Smoothies have already been mentioned by M. Kelley in another thread and are fresh and real not from concentrate

Atmosphere is great, a very welcoming environment...all types seem comfortable there.

Pastries are fresh and good...Sankofa can attest to that since he gets all of the 3 day old muffins and stuff that are no longer considered fresh to sell to customers.

And this place pays me so I dig it quite a bit.

I don't frequent coffee shops, but if I were to do so, the Firefly would be my spot.

The Firefly (in the form of Alison Demaree) gave me first gig lo those many years ago, so I think that they are the sh*t. Plus I met many of my closest friends there back when they used to do Monday night quizzing.

Who remembers when this location was Industrial Joe's?

I do! I do!

Played my first gig there.

BroomPenny was also the first band to play the Firefly. Woot! They didn't invite us back. I think it was the Godsmack.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but on Saturday mornings when I just have to stay awake after a full night of working and three hours of class ahead of me, it's my one stop shop.

All of the women I have seen working there are smokin' hot.

One complaint: for a big person like me, it feels way too cramped in there. It's got to be purely neurotic because I did not feel the same way about IJ's. . .I just feel like the walls are closing in on me when I'm there. I feel like a Bull in a China store.
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.
