im confused as to what that means, or how it is relevant, just looking for clarification, not picking a fight
To clarify; this guy had some lingering issues with his service as a sniper. He had a bit of a breakdown due to PTSD and a relationship going sour.

Quite honestly it was freaky because he thought I was part of the blame for the breakdown and the relationship sourness.

I joked (and was fearful of) being hit by a bullet that I never heard.

A guy who has been trained to not be seen and is also trained to shoot a target from over 1000 meters is quite intimidating. More so if his training involves not getting caught after the shot.
but there is no need to piss on the entire military
With two of my family members buried at Arlington National Cemetery you're barking up the wrong tree. Add in my 2 combat medic friends and I'm in the clear. :P

According to police his myspace site (uh oh  ) lists his influences as Hugh Heffner, Larry Flint, and the KKK... A steady diet of hardcore porn and hate literature... not good for the ol' mental health.

You failed to mention is also listed "Hunting, Hunting, Hunting...and oh yeah, Hunting" on that list.

You'd better add 'hunting' to the list of "steady diet" causes.

What were his favorite bands; are they to blame too?

okay Jojo  :P since we know hunting arouses the killing instinct, which then allows humans to more easily kill other humans... yet, the highest murder rates are in inner cities - places that don't get much hunting...

If you're going to blame porn and the KKK then why not the guns and the knowledge of how to stalk something? If anything he had more of an interest in hunting then porn and the KKK.

Plus it's not like he shot at people from point blank range; he was using his hunting skills.
yet, the highest murder rates are in inner cities - places that don't get much hunting...
Yet this happened in the middle of nowhere. Random violence is just that; random.

Probably because hunters "release" those aggresive tendencies.....plus aren't crammed next to each other like in cities.
