Yeah, I used to double fist PITCHERS during a show. I should have limited it down to just one on a couple of occasions, but I seldom got drunk beyond a buzz. I saved the heavy drinking for after the show. I can think of one or two times I lost track, but I didn't have to do it. I played a few shows sober too.

The irony is that one night at Peanuts someone called the owner and complained that the singer was drunk on stage and causing problems and a few other things I can't recall, but I was stone sober because I was on antibiotics at the time. The owner called the manager and basically told him not to hire us back again, but I fixed it.
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.

I finally enjoy playing sober now. I took months to find joy in it, but I still havent got to the point where i want to stay and chat afterwards. I am working on it though.

I got over the need to play under the influence long ago when I had a couple too many and played sloppily, flirted with all the women-nearly getting beat up by husbands / boyfriends, stumbled all over the equipment wrecking stuff, and cursed at the crowd in my loudest voice, "You're all a buncha' **** losers!!" It wasn't pretty, I tell you. . .

I was never invited to play on that church's worship band ever again. . .
