Michael Brecker dies.

NEW YORK Jan 14, 2007 (AP)— Michael Brecker, a versatile and influential tenor saxophonist who won 11 Grammys over a career that spanned more than three decades, died Saturday. He was 57.
Brecker died in a hospital in New York City of leukemia, according to his longtime friend and manager, Darryl Pitt.

I actually had the honor of performing with him and his brother Randy in 1978 while I was attending Capital University. He was an extraordinary musician and their charts were hard as could be. They were both great guys. If my history serves me correctly I believe he studied music at IU Bloomington for awhile. He truly was a legendary performer.

I hadn't heard this. Damn! I knew he was quite ill and had been fighting for a long time.
Flapjacks, go educate yourself, please! This cat was one of the elite musicians of the last 50 years. If you don't know what you're talking about, don't speak. You just look stupid.
