Jacob and Co. Announces DC Partnership, 'Batman' Watches There is perhaps no character more recognizable in American popular culture than Batman. Jacob and Co., one of the most influential watch and jewelry manufacturers of the 21st century, knows this marketability well. The company just announced a new partnership with Warner Bros. to create multiple timepieces based on the iconic series, to be released alongside new films.

"Adding Warner Bros. to the Jacob & Co. roster is a dream come true," company founder Jacob Arabo said in a press release. "Batman is one of the most iconic superhero characters of all time and has a natural connection to Jacob & Co. and the watches and jewelry we create."

Arabo also announced that he will design the new timepieces himself, the first of which will be available in spring 2022; around the same time as the new film. In the statement, Arabo called Warner Bros. "a quintessential movie studio" and "one of the most important entertainment groups in history," adding that when the company contacted the studio earlier this year, "this The chemistry is undeniable."

While the current focus seems to be on Batman-inspired watches, there seems to be room for other franchises to grow as deals continue for several years.

The announcement of the deal comes a day after the studio released a trailer for "DC Fandom," a global virtual fan event that will reveal exactly how much work the comics studio has done over the past year. In the video, trailers for franchises like Superman and Lois and the John Cena-led Peacemaker are teased, along with films like Batman and the new Harley Quinn project.

The company is still playing catch-up with rival Marvel Studios and its Disney-backed projects, hoping its star-studded lineup will spark fan interest when the event kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 16. Stars like Cena, Pattinson, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Momoa and more are scheduled to appear, but of course, any good demo doesn't reveal surprises.

Meanwhile, Arabo's latest project will spark a lot of speculation: Will he opt for the technical, explosive style of other Bat-gadgets? Might he stick with Batman's other side, millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne? Or do fans get giddy when he shows off work inspired by The Joker or The Riddler? Only time will tell, but Arabo knows the importance of design:

“I am personally designing a whole new collection of watches with new movements and new complications,” says Arabo. "At its core, Jacob & Co.'s DNA is also full of boldness and innovation. Both brands represent the highest art forms in their respective fields."

Jacob and Co. aren't shy when it comes to film collaborations. The luxury watchmaker has only recently released timepieces inspired by The Fast and the Furious, The Godfather and Scarface in the past two years.
