Frank Black has revealed Pixies will never make another record.

However, they will continue to tour, following the success of their reunion gigs.

Black told Uncut: "I wish it could go a bit further again and we could make a record. Not all of the band-members are willing to do that. Rather than make a big deal out of it, we've agreed to just continue to play live."

The singer reassured fans over their commitment to touring, however.

He said: "We definitely enjoy ourselves. There is a little camaraderie, a gang mentality that takes over when we're about to take the stage."

He also revealed that the relationship between bassist Kim Deal and himself is much improved since the Pixies' first split in 1991.

Black said: "Now, if we're on tour together, we hang out, we hug. We have some good conversations, I suppose."

I think a new album would be a bad idea, seeing as how Black has been quoted as saying he tried to write a Pixies album but he doesn't write that way anymore.

I'm glad they'll continue to tour, I'd like to see them again.

It seems as though Black was the chief songwriter. If he's not comfortable doing it, it won't get done. He'll just release solo albums.

i say tomato - you say potato

but seriously - look at rem - theyve grown and changed and morphed over the yrs - stipes songwriting and phrasing has certainly changed

its a shame that black cant do the same - or at least be comfortable - seems kinda defeatist and also smacks even more of greed

ill kindly take yer money to hear the hits - but dont expect anything new or different

(listen to ep six of ess bee for even more on this topic)
