My custom bass...

Post by bassjones »

I've got to sell the G&L to come up with the deposit, but it will look like this...
Image

6-string fretted
Ash body
Walnut top cap and matching headstock cap
Maple neck/maple fretboard/no inlays on the board (not 100% set on the fretboard, but leaning maple)
set neck
hipshot bridge and tuners
nordstrand dual coil pickups
Aguilar 3-band preamp

Basically, this one is going to be built for modern funk/gospel. Build time is only 2-3 months and the price isn't too bad. I may end up having him build a "twin" fretless down the road too - same body style, different woods, especially on the fretboard, which would be ebony.

Not DP Custom! (No Offense Casey, but I've heard too many horror stories and you got lucky). Redeemer Basses. Scott Coleman is the builders name. Small company, but great reviews so far from what I've read. He's a TBer.

He'll send me progress pics too. It's going to be a while. I've got to sell the G&L and pay off some other debts first, but I'm hoping sometime after the first of the year to get it started.
