Sad Anniversary - September 21, 1987

Post by bassjones »

Today marks 19 years since the death of one of the greatest musicians of all time, Jaco Pastorius. It is a sad anniversary indeed, but the music and the legend lives on.

Killed for the 30 or 40 bucks in his wallet? Every story is different. Brutally beaten by a club owner...? Whatever happened, that sucks!:x

Well, actually he was killed because he picked a fight with a martial arts expert that was a bouncer at a club. Guy went crazy, and really messed Jaco up. Or murdered, as some would say.

A very sad day indeed. :(

Was it a bouncer? I'm certainly not saying I doubt anyone... I've heard ten different stories plus.

It was a bouncer. Read Bill Milkowski's (sp?) book. Untreated Bi-Polar disorder is not a good thing.

3am september 27 (9pm on the 26th here in the US) will be the 20th anniversary of the death of one Cliff Burton. some of us will pay a little tribute to him on saturday...

Image

this will not be an all-cliff show, just a song or two from imminent demise and graves.

this year is also the 20th anniversary for 'Master of Puppets'

Last month was the 16th anniversary of the death of SRV. Stupid helicopter...

If I ever become famous I don't think I will be taking any kind of flying apparatus if I can avoid it as they seem to have a beef with musicians...

totally agree.....SKYNYRD! It looks just like Buddy Holly. Richie Valens, Patsy Cline, John Denver, Jim Croce, Aaliyah, Ricky Nelson, and OTIS REDDING.

c'mon guys! What better way to go down??? Dying in a plane crash gives you way more rock star status than an overdose. If I ever get to choose I'm going down w/ the plane!
