I'm looking to start a band. I'm not looking for anything serious right now. My skills are limited. I play some guitar and some drums. I've also got a trumpet to play with but that's a little outside the realm of what I want to do. I'll list some influences below. If anyone is interested let me know.

Triplefast Action
Fig Dish
Local H
Smoking Popes
Hey Mercedes

I'm into other stuff too but listening to these bands would give an idea of what I'm looking for.

Seriously....Fig Dish? Damn, I've never heard anyone use them as a reference.

I'd be interested. I can probably pull off singing songs in those keys...

Saw them at the Metro several years ago, went backstage with one of my co-workers and got their first CD autographed.

Too bad they broke up....I've heard their new projects, Ness isn't bad.

the stuff they did as Caviar was decent. nothing to write home about, but OK for a listen.

'when shove goes back to push' and 'that's what love songs often do' are prolly 2 of my favorite all-time albums.

i saw one on eBay once called 'unleash the kracken', which must be purty rare. it ended up going for like $80.

I grew up in Chicago in the mid-late 90's. Most of these bands are Chicago bands. I saw these bands on a weekly basis. Anyway, I'm just looking for people to jam with and maybe eventually try to play out. Nothing too serious.
