It's important to understand a couple of points.

Free speech means saying what you want, but it does not mean doing so without potential consequences.

We're not telling you that you can't write whatever you want here, but we are saying that we (moderators, administrators, and owners) are going to filter out some content that our users have expressed to us that they find out of line.

Believe me, we're rather lax in our alteration of content. A lot of borderline and/or questionable material goes untouched because no one points it out as problematic. I mean, seriously, have you read some of the threads that the regulars let loose on? I have. I've participated.

There is a line. When and if the line is crossed, we will react out of duty and responsibility to the users (current and potential) and the owner.

If there are people posting questionable content on here and throwing a fit about it being edited, moved, or locked, there's a chance that those participants are NOT in the demographic that we're trying to reach once the site starts courting PAYING SPONSORS.

We are nearing the half-way point of a two-year plan to turn this site into one that generates revenue (if not profit) to offset expenses and provide services to local musicians and artists.

I hope that clears some things up.
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.
