You would not BELIEVE the hate mail we are getting about the Bears.

First we cant win either way if FOX shows a Bears game. If we air an NFC game an its not the Bears...we suck, If its *not* a Colts game (which we cannot air)...we suck.

First, we are contractually obligated to air FOX's games, who have a long-term agreement with the NFC.

Then, *god forbid* we promote that we are airing the Bears game.

Never been rude, just called and asked at the beginning of the year if Fox kept you guys on the Bears games. Then asked about HD and got a hearty laugh. Yeah I know, Nexstar is broke....

And as far as HD, you should be more worried about the "24" folks who are getting highly ticked at watching everything in 480i.

People call really pissed off that we are not HD.

Even after you ask them "Sir, do you HONESTLY think that if we could, we WOULD *not* be HD?

Its expensive, and we are the companies smaller station so we are waaaaay down the list for conversion.

I typically tell callers that it takes a lot of money and time to make this happen. Now, it they would like to expedite this conversion they are more than welcome to make a contribution to the cause.

That shuts them up.

You would almost FEEL that they were blaming me for what was happening on the track...

What would I do to retaliate? I would mix in pre-recorded races between breaks to confuse the hell out of them...I would even just turn the whole damn thing off durring something that sounded exciting like a pass with 5 laps to go...

Would blame it all on the 'feed'...

FOX not being in high def is simply a huge annoyance. Not having money is a lame excuse. I can't tell you how bothersome it was to watch the games on FOX last week in terrible resolution. I might as well have just shut the tube off and turned on the radio. My only salvation is that during the regular season my team is shown in HD on the Sunday Ticket. Hell PBS has 3 HD feeds, maybe FOX can borrow one of them.
