Ducks Win Stanley Cup!

Post by MrSpall »

I know I may be the only FWM user that actually follows hockey, but this playoff season was tremendous, even if my Red Wings fell to the eventual champions.

Tons of sudden death overtimes, some really great goalplay, and a team on a mission, this was really fun to watch.

Did anyone else watch this?

I didn't. I was too heartbroken over the Wings losing to watch. I saw a little bit, but that's about it. Plus, I've got two females to contend with for the tele, and since the Wings weren't in it, I would have had a hard time winning that battle. Probably going to be the same for NBA Finals since my Pistons got beat.

Congratz to the Ducks...

What little I did see of the playoffs this year I saw tons of excitement...

I am a big hockey fan...don't know all the stats and the names and blah blah blah...but I LOVE to watch the games...regardless of who is playing...:)

Dont watch the NHL! BUT,... curious.

How much have they recovered from the debilitating strike
from a little ways back? somewhat, mostly, fully ???

Sadly the NHL still hasn't even come close to recovering from the strike. Right now they are showing the games on the Vs. network. I didn't even know that it existed. (Amazingly, Fort Wayne cable does carry it - it used to be OLN.) Attendance is down, and the ratings for the final (on a major network) were horrendous. The ratings for Game 4 were among the lowest ratings for a major network EVER. They were stuck around the bottom, between a couple of old West Wing reruns.

Rough times for the sport of kings.

I heard they played "disco duck" instead of "we are the champions"
