I thought the cat had been out of the bag for years...
..lotsa o denial still exists.. :?
I guess...

I just don't see the big deal.

These guys were naturally talented enough to make it to the big time, why does it matter what they took to improve themselves after the fact?

They are not hurting anyone but themselves.

So what does one tell an eleven year old boy when he asks
about the subject? Everyone does it?

Its more about the youth who now think they need it to get ahead, and are totally wrecking thier bodies to do it.

So what?

What the difference whether kids do steroids or smoke pot, do coke, drink beer, or smoke cigarettes?

It is all accessible and if you want to do it you are going to.

ensuring that young men don't take steroids falls on the shoulders of their parents and their coaches, not some major league baseball player making $18 Million a year to play a kids game.

Professional sports has taken a hard line on drug use. You don't have to like it or understand why. It's their game and they set the rules. If the athletes blatantly disregard these rules they need to go. Period.

They are paid craploads of cash to play a 'kids game' with only a few rules to keep them playing, and yet many give the middle finger to us all by using the drugs.

I applaud them for outing all these idiots and I hope they lose EVERYTHING including their reputation.

Pro sports has also been the outlet for many an impressionable kid. Part of the reason of Pro sports to take such a hard line is that other than the legal issues there is a moral one too.

Yes, kids will take any drug they want. We know parents try but cant always watch and see what they do. And NO its not the athletes job to stop them.

If your kids starts to use drugs BECAUSE they saw you smoking the occasional fatty, what does that say about you?

That fact that anyone defends these athletes is beyond me.

Stop using the sh*t or give up the career.

Sounds pretty simple to me.

I am for testing all of them and throwing them out for testing positive. I just think parents are all too quick to blame celebreties for their kids bad behavior when normally their bad parenting is the problem.

Take the kids out of the equation. It isnt ALL about that.

Its just one element of a big picture.

only one I'm surprised in the least about is Pettitte, and that's just because he's always had this squeaky clean image.
