Carlos Zambrano, who allowed only one run in 7 2/3 innings against the Reds on Saturday, is 5-1 with a 1.54 ERA since the start of May. The only major leaguer with a lower ERA than Zambrano over that time is Jason Schmidt (1.15).
Carlos is coming around....could've been sooner, but I'm sure we will take anything we can get at this point.

Another Carlos....Carlos Marmol is looking good too. In his first MLB start:
6 innings 2 H 1 ER 3 BB 7 K His ERA in 3 games is 0.90
Zambrano will win a Cy Young one of these years. Maybe I should start rooting for that instead of a pennant.

Cubs would do ANYTHING to screw up the White Sox, even if it meant losing badly to the @#$^* Tigers.

Watching Baker scream obsenities from the bench when things aren't going well (all the time) is most exciting thing the Cubs got going right now.

I'd rather watch the Tampa Bay Devil Rays vs. Kansas City Royals on mute while a Cardinals fan kicks me in the junk after each scoreless inning.

this came from prosportsdaily.com rumors section:
CHIBA, Japan -- This year there's speculation that Bobby Valentine might be a good fit to manage the Cubs if Dusty Baker's job comes open.
But right now, the man who managed the New York Mets in the 2000 World Series is in the midst of a pennant race in Japan. He won the title last year with his Chiba Lotte Marines, who have taken Japanese baseball by storm.
While not addressing the Cubs job specifically, Valentine acknowledged he had an out clause in his contract and that he would listen to any "intriguing" offer.
it might now be bad to see this guy on the Cubs bench.

Clinically insane has gotten him something that no Cubs manager has done since 1908...a ring.

Besides, I think it's what we need. An image. One that's not associated with "lovable losers".

Regardless, I doubt it will happen. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Hendry gives Dusty another year.

of course hendry will give dusty anutha yr ... hes got no choice

have you noticed how weak their defensive end has gotten lately?

and really shoddy dribbling too!

if i were hendry i would sub in osaka more often and let getty ice down his knees from all the corner kicks!
WOLVERINES!
