How about local studios? Off the top of my head, Sweetwater Sound(studios), T-Bush (Tim Bushong) Studios, Monastic Chambers, Temple Studios, etc... Assemble the list and do reviews of each.

I know this is kind of sticky subject but how about band reviews? I know I would like to read other peoples comments about my bands performance or music. Just a thought.

I think it is a good idea to get real opinions on bands. People are way more honest in text than in person. I call it cyberballs. Some bands really need to hear where they need improvement and not just "you guys rocked" Post away!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with that, but I think that a lot of bands are not able to handle that criticism. Do you remember when I was writing for WhatzUp several years ago? I wrote five articles that spent 80% of the content listing all the praises of a given band and then I spent one small paragraph saying, ". . .and here's how you could improve to make me enjoy the show more."

I had to stop writing them because people were giving me sh*t all over town. A couple of the acts handled it the way they should have, but I don't know how willing some artists are to accept criticism from their so-called peers.

Heaven forbid if I had seen a band that sucked. Music around here isn't ready for that honesty yet. That will really be the sign that our scene is maturing. When people can stop causing problems for one another and just respect someone's right to make music and respect others' rights not to like it.

I think it would be cool to but I think in order to control the possible chaos this may bring, we should make it policy that a band member has to request that I create the thread.

thoughts?
