OMG! I'm Gonna be done with College as of May 6th 2006! WORD!

Anyways.... I'm attempting to be more social with the local music scene since I might be living in Fort Wayne for the next year or two (if I don't move to Chicago). Some of you might know me already, I've played alot of places all over but I'm usually never stationary in any one place. I'm about to Graduate from Indiana University with a batchelors in Secondary Special Education, minor is music.

Well here are somethings you should know about me. I graduated from Snider in 99. I started to take music seriously about midway through High School while playing in Jazz Band. I loved jazz music and the whole concept of improvisation. My primary instrument is Alto Saxophone (soprano saxophone was stolen). I have numerous influences ex: Cannonball Adderly, David Sanborn, John Coltrane, Karl Denson,The Roots, Soulive, RHCP, and Jimi Hendrix.

I attended Ball State where I learned to play Flute, Piccolo, and Clarinet. I primarily used them as jazz doubles but occasionally played flute and pic in jazz combo concerts. The lack of vision and passion for knowledge from my colleagues made me consider leaving BSU.

When I transfered to IU I started to collaborate with bar bands but this was after I took a year off from playing. Instead of playing jazz I wanted to play with other groups and try other music. So I did. Funk-Rock-R&B/Soul, Blues, Hip Hop.

The more I play with other musicians the more I realize that they can be the most self-centered and self-absorbant people on the planet.
Some of the bands I played with usually had conflicting personalities or a conflict of interest. It's been especially difficult finding a band that's a perfect for a saxophone player that wouldn't be tacky. Plus peeps that WANNA practice.

I've always enjoyed jamming with other bands but when all is said and done. I'd rather play with a commited band that is original yet authetic and not a group of guys trying to recreate their idol band. It's been hard finding a good fit which is one reason why I've picked up electric guitar.

So now I look for the "perfect" fit of Original-Authentic music that will allow me to express my extremely extroverted personality. Other then that I love food, sports, beer, and women.

I'm not on here much so add me please

Hutnick and Bassjones -
I'd be happy to jam with you guys sometime. I have a cast on from my broken wrist so it might be a few weeks. So I really haven't done much playing because my right hand slows me down. It hasn't totally stopped me from doing a a couple of gigs. I actually have one May 10th @ C-street with a rap group put together by Dave P.and myself of course if I had it my way I would perfer to jam with you guys with my Cast off. It's torture having it on.

I injured it playing basketball in jan, some guy ran into me. It never healed all the way so they put me back in the cast after looking at the x-rays wrong. :-( so I've been in a cast 10 of the last 14 weeks of my life.

Oliver's Army-
I've been asked if I taught lessons before.. And If I can find a good market and music store I would very much like that to be my summer job. I hope to have that figured out soon, if by chance you know a music store then needs a saxophone teacher PLEASE let me know.

What I can offer is fundamentals, limited classical knowledge, and jazz, and improve. I always start with the basics.
But yes I would be more then happy to get you back in the flow of playing. What music interest you?

kimaliz-
Been out to Midcity lately? Are they still having the "noise complaint" problems?

The_Dude-
As long as J.C. still puts it on and Dean, Todd, and Greg are there....

I will always make it to Warsaw for the 4th of July as long as I'm in Fort Wayne. I kinda wanna make up for last years performance too. It had been awhile since we played together the last time we jammed. I believe it was a 2 or 3 years. I would have had liked more practice time instead of cramming. But we did what we could. I wanna build on last years performance. Maybe I can convince the guys to play more James Brown

After running sound for the Freak Brothers for over a year, for a horn player it was 'inspirational' to say the least.

I really need a structured foundation to relearn everything. I play for kicks, run the handful of licks that i remember and then flounder.

I would like to eventually be competent enough to sit in on a loose blues jam.

Scale exercises, tone focusing, altissimo, and especially playing by ear training.

Now when someone says the key of 'A', it might as well be 'Q'

It's on according to Dean and Todd. Todd mentioned something about possibly bringing Flung Shui along but I haven't heard any confirmation. They're going to do it on a night where there are no fireworks so more people show up.

I will love you forever if you can get them to play Get Up Offa That Thing like the old days. Hell, any JB's!
