What is there to tell realy - I guess I could tell you how I grew up and where I'm from and all that crap. It's boring. So I won't.

Ah screw it - ok.

I was born in a vacant lot on Fairfield in Fort Wayne, IN. At the time there was a hospital there. Now it's a park. I guess way before that there were some realy nice houses on that block, but I guess we had to build the hospital so that 50 years later we could get to the park. I used to spend most of my time at my grandparents house which was a block away from that park.

One of the earliest stories anyone tells about me is a story my friend Eric's mom tells. I was probably about 3 or 4 and I was over at their house and the mailman came to the door. I invited him in for lunch. For the life of me I don't remember this, but she insists it happened. Ever since then, metaphorically, I've been inviting the mailman in to my house for lunch. Sometimes we become friends. Sometimes he stabs me in the chest and runs off with my VCR.

I graduated from Homestead High School in 1999. I learned two things while I was there. Suburban WASP high schools are no place for normal people to go to school and if you are mad at your principal because he said you can't drink soda and wear hats, just wait for the right time. People who you don't like will eventualy screw up bad enough and you can help get them fired. The only reason I even went to that school was because of the radio station there.

I worked at a different radio station for a long time. I have to say that doing that was fun, but more than that it was one of the best case studys in human behavior I've ever been a part of.

Now I sell ads for a local newspaper. It's fun. I get to make my own hours and my boss is a good guy. I own a house, I had a girlfriend who put up with my sh*t and was the best thing that's ever happened to me, but I lost her, watch way to many cartoons for someone my age, and enjoy hockey. I'm pretty ok at it. I'm a better goalie than defensemen, but I slumped in net this year so I played D a lot.

I told you it was boring.

I played goalie in hockey from age 5 to 19.
It's fun isn't it?

Yeah, trash talking is fun.

I often enjoyed leaving the crease and going into the corner to lay good hits on people too.

you didn't see too many goalies doing that. But, oh was it fun.

i got penalized for throwing my stick at a ref when he called a goal that didn't go in

That is classic!!

I had a ref kick me in the head to break up a fight once. That's about the extent of my ref contact.

Awesome.

I wanted to play in some pickup leagues after high school. But, some tool broke into my house and stole every last piece of my hockey equipment.

Even my jock!! Who burlarizes a jock strap?????

I went to that empty lot when it was a hospital on my first ever visit to Ft. Wayne. I was on my way back to Michigan from Marion and stopped in Ft. Wayne for a sandwich. On my way back to the highway, I stopped at a red light and got rear-ended by a 96 year old man driving 45 mph in a 35 zone, who never even hit his brakes.

Then, when the hospital was housing SCAN, I almost got into a physical fight with one of my foster kids step fathers during a visitation. After hours, no security, and the idiot SCAN supervisor lets this hot head wife beater and child abuser come out and confront me about problems he has with me and how I'm raising his kids. He's jumping up and down, cursing at me, calling me every name in the book and then he threatened to kill me. I carried a concealed .45 everywhere for about 18 months after that since the guy had served time for assault with a deadly weapon before.

Anyway, I wasn't the least bit saddened to see that place bulldozed. Plus I live about 1/2 mile south of there, and it's a nice park.
