When I was moving into my house a few years back, it was the middle of winter and most of the stuff was being put in the garage at that point. Since it was so cold out there my friends and I started refering to it as echo base (empire reference).

A bit later I was in an experimental music project called sauce policy. That name was thought up when one of the members came back to work after lunch. He had leaned over the counter at Mcdonalds and stole the sauce policy sign. It's the one that tells employees how many barbacue sauces you get with certain size mcnuggets, how many butters with hotcakes, etc. (I still have it hung up at work).

Anyways, when I got online and needed a moniker those two words popped together in my head first. I added the 1 because my service provider required a number.

Songbird

Post by songbirdfortwayne »

songbirdfortwayne actually came from my company Songbird Promotions, Inc., which used to be a lot more active - promoting several local musicians (jazz soloists primarily)... but which has taken a back seat since law school.

Songbird actually comes from No ki she (pronounced no keh sheh), which is Cherokee and can be translated Songbird, Meadowlark or Star depending upon the context. It is my Cherokee name.

A LONG time ago....back when I was about 17, my 'goth' boyfriend would write my name as 'jewlee' instead of Julie and it stuck.

The 138 comes from the Misfits song, "We are 138" which spawned from the cult classic film, THX1138.

I've used jewlee138 on just about every message board and, like someone posted earlier, it's easier to remember your login if you stick with the same one.

Mine is actually pretty clever. The name Matthew comes from one of my favorite books growing up called "The orphan and the whale: The tale of a young man's journey to luck, love, and treasure" by F. P. Faverhavenshctock. Matthew was a character in the book who was a minstrel who tried to entertain the people of the village, but was always being put down for playing other people's songs, then not playing other people songs, then shunned for the strange wart/mole like growth on his neck.

The name Sturm comes from the German language, meaning "Storm" and since I cry myself to sleep alot and my tears are like rain from the storm, it seemed to fit. Hence the name: Matthew Sturm

Plus my name in real life is Matthew Sturm, so it just seemed to fit.

God that's beautifully sad. Lord, send him an angel to wipe those tears with the downy of her feathered wings...maybe one of those Victoria Secret's angels...the one who walk runways here on earth. Amen.

*INSERT WITTY REMARK HERE*

It's my last name.

A friend in high school could never call me by my first name.. it just wasn't in her for some reason. So she always called me Anderson, I thought it was it was cool.. so I kept it.

*sigh*

brandan = brandan

Um.

Yeah, that's about it. Although if you are wondering about the spelling...it is because my priest before I was born wanted to make sure that it was spelt the Byzantine Catholic way. Byzantine Catholicism = eastern right (our morning masses used to be mostly in Slovak). So, I get my named spelled that way and I am cursed to have people spell it Brandon for the rest of my friggin' life.

Oh yeah, I guess I'm kinda sorta back on the boards. We'll see...

[b]Okay, think of what little patience I have as, oh, I don't know, your virginity. You always thought it would be there, until that night Junior Year when you were feeling a little down about yourself and your pal Kevin, who just wanted to be friends, well, he dropped by and he brought a copy of About Last Night and a four-pack of Bartels & James and woo hoo hoo, it was gone forever - just like my patience is now.

My buddy at school started calling me pizzle instead of my last name, putt for some reason. It stuck, along with about 80,000 other nicknames.

Every name I tried was already taken. So I shruged, took off the "ed", added an "ie" and there you go. Shrugie. I use it for everything now.
Most of it seemed to make some sort of sense at the time.

Post by G Fresh »

A lot of people think that I took G Fresh from the name of the sushi chef in "Orgazmo", but this is not the case. I hadn't even seen the movie until recently.

It actually came from the touch screen video game box, AKA, the crack machine, at the downtown Munchie's. Me and a friend of mine who used to work there used to go back and forth trying to get the high score on this game called Crystal Balls. If you made it into the top 4 or 5 you got to put your name in it. The machine only allowed for 7 characters and I didn't want to put something lame like MGates into it so my friend suggested G Fresh, G for Gates and Fresh because it sounds kind of hip-hop which is funny because I'm not into hip-hop at all and he, and everyone else who knows me, knew/knows that.

Since then, I use it for pretty much everything.

Well, I had been an avid photographer when I had the money, then I got divorced and decided it would be rather fitting, considering my angst and my need to make some awesome new memories.
