That is all, carry on. :)
Tons of the messages in this thread are riddled by the riddler and full of question marks. I thought it was a political commentary.

I don't know what caused it, but it's really dang annoying.

Well, I wasn't too worried about the way it looked, I just wondered if it was an error on the part of the site, or your cut and paste, or what was up. Thanks for cleaning it up.

I'd love to be able to blame Wallace.....but, I cut & pasted it & evidently it didn't work real well.

Regardless, once again, thanks for the open discussion.

I thought it was funny that Clinton was talking about keeping jobs here when he signed NAFTA... and GATT...

It's not that I don't want to pay any taxes, it's that I want the government to do their job - and only their job.

Their one and only job is to protect us from foreign invasion and defend the constitution. That's it. Well, that and stay the f out of the way of people who actually produce goods and services for other people. Neither major party wants any part of that.

I support toppling Hussein because he attempted to assasinate a sitting President in 1992 - W's daddy. That alone is grounds for a declaration of war. Let alone the wmds that, once again, even France said he had at the time. Let alone the human rights abuses. And yes, I know, there are worse cases in the world - but we don't have national security issues there. And even if it is all about oil, we need oil, so who gives a f... We still haven't taken any though. Most wars are about things like land and oil. They're usually wrapped in other sh*t like religion, but really it's all about the ends.

I agree NAFTA = bad thing; however, the original NAFTA agreement stated that any company that did go overseas had to pay their employees a minimum of 60 cents for every dollar that they'd have to pay an American worker for that job......GW went in and eliminated the minimum pay requirements which really opened the floodgates. So, yeah I believe it was a huge mistake, but GW really made sure to solidify the mistake.

Say it with me people....

FREE TRADE IS NOT A MISTAKE!

Please, please, please read "Free Trade Under Fire" and "The Bottom Billion". The only reason we are sending those jobs overseas is because robots are more expensive at this point in time.

If you are in an job that can be easily replaced by someone who can do it cheaper/better/faster, your jobs is most likely toast. This is a fact of life people. Countries which engage in free trade are by far, much more prosperous and successful over the long haul.

Not to mention he was firing on US planes that were trying to enforce the UN's no-fly zone. It doesn't get more provacative than to fire on another country's troops.

I support NAFTA 100%. I just find it outrageous for Bill Clinton to be criticizing it, when he's the one who signed it - before the Republican takeover BTW.

Oh yes, and firing on US planes enforcing the no-fly zone. Assasination plot + firing on US planes = plenty good reason for a declaration of war even without all the other issues.

Do you think part of the reasoning behind NAFTA could have been to "cool down" unions in this country?

Just throwing out a question.

An assassination attempt that took place 11 years before? Give me a break. Firing at a few planes? You go blow a few things up. WMD? Show me, don't tell me. Those things aren't justification for war. Let alone a quagmire that has us stuck in a place for science knows how long, and is sucking up 12 billion a month. For a shitehole like Iraq? Not a good idea.

You know, I was in Belgium last month, and I was a little tipsy (OK, really really tipsy) and had just finished eating a Kebab around 5am. I was fumbling through my Euros, and made a joke that I didn't quite have the system down yet (1 euro and 2 euro are coins...there is no 1 euro bill, and I wasn't familiar with the other coins yet). So the guy at the counter asks me where I'm from. I tell him I'm an American. So I play friendly and ask him where he is from...he says, "I'm from a Kurd from Northern Iraq." Not in an angry tone or anything, but I'm like, "OOOH! Man, I'm sorry about that war! I didn't support it!" But he is still kind, and says, "well, I had to leave my country, but it's not your fault." So I say, "well, how do you feel about the war?" He says, "well, Saddam was not a very good politician. But things were not that bad."

This is only one example, but this a Kurd telling me this. Dude lost his home and had to leave his country on our account. (But still served me a forking great kebab.) He hardly has anything bad to say about Saddam.

The term "unions" has been floating in my head as a reply since the economics part of this thread popped up. I don't know if I want to tread there because I don't know how many people are in unions...all I know is that I'm glad I probably never will be.
