McCain Gets The Nod As Romney Drops Out

Post by G Fresh »

Story Here

I would just like to take a moment and offer an early congratulations to my Democrat friends here on FWM.com on their upcoming Presidential win in November...although if the nominee ends up being Hillary, the vote might end up being like fighting the battle of who could care less.

Congrats my friends! I hope we bring a more worthy opponent in 4 years. :)

It's not like a Mormon stood a chance of getting the GOP nod.

Is there anyway to "fast-forward" four years ahead....I can't,...just can't stand the field anymore.

It's not like a Mormon stood a chance of getting the GOP nod.
See, that's just not fair. Most of the evangelicals I know were leaning his way, especially over McCain. Allot of us, myself included, would have voted for him in the Primary over Huckabee, who is an evangelical pastor.

I'm not particularly thrilled with any of the GOP candidates this year, except Duncan Hunter. I think most Republicans vote issues rather than religious affiliation - provided it's not a Muslim or something... Mormons tend to hold similar values politically, so I don't think it bothered that many evangelicals. I'll let my pastor be my spirtual guide and I'll vote for the person I think has the best stands on the issues that matter to me.

That said, I'm writing in Duncan Hunter in November, unless one of the 3rd party candidates emerges that I really like.

I guess I would have to vote McCain, I'm guessing Fred Thompson would be his running mate in order to bring back the core conservatives to the ticket.

The thing we're forgetting about this election is Congress. That will really show who is running the ship.

Fred Thompson's too lazy to help as a veep candidate. He'd have to go out and stump for his guy, something he didn't much bother to do for himself.

While I'm not likely to vote for Mcain, at this point, I would never say that Clinton is a better choice. I may just not vote, and I'm sick of people saying "well you can't complain then" like I have to choose between the lesser of two evils. Mcain is not a conservative as it should be defined, he may be better that Clinton or Obama.

I'm a Dem, and Billary scares the bejeezus out of me.

I'll vote Obama in the primary, and if he gets the nod, I'll vote for him again in the general election.

If she wins the nomination I'll be voting McCain in November.*
