Ron Paul

Post by poopstains »

So since we have thread about Mike Huckabee, I figured why not Ron Paul.

I don't know much about Ron Paul, just this interview with Glenn Beck

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xon3d9E ... re=related
(it works best if you click the Glenn Beck video option.)

Just from this interview I kinda like the guy, he addresses alot of stuff that I think about, beyond some questionable foriegn policy things, I thinks he has a good vision.

I like him except I think immediately bringing all troops home, consequences be damned, is a terrible idea.
I like his domestic agenda a ton though. The best of all of them. Of course, he's basically a Libertarian, so that doesn't surprise me. He's also pro-life. I saw an interview with him about that. He said he was completely pro-choice until he volunteered at a clinic and saw a few dead fetuses, then he became completely pro-life...

Anyway, except for Iraq, he'd get my vote out of all of them.

Paul was the Libertarian Presidential nominee in 1988. He is running as a Republican because he believes the Libertarians won't ever win te Presidency.

Not a bad move on his part. Sometimes you have to get inside to break out.

Ron Paul is too old. I liked everything I've heard from him pretty much. But he's so far behind I don't think he's very viable.

besides the dem race is way more exciting. those damn iowa caucuses are gonna mess everything up. you have no clue who's gonna win. any dem candidate that gets less than 15% is eliminated and their supporters get to pick their favorite out of the remaining candidates.

OMG. I felt so bad for Dean. I can't believe he didn't kill himself after that. He was kicking assss until that. The media turned on him bigtime and showed that clip over and over. But hey he led the way for grassroots internet donations for presidential campaigns.

I think Paul is the only candidate that realizes that our troops are disenchanted with the idea of freeing Iraq. I think he is the only one that is taking CIA information literally and is willing to give us a foreign policy that won't resemble world policing. He is the only candidate that I've felt an emotional draw to too. Whatever that means.

I also find it interesting that he is the candidate with the most financial support from active duty military.

I enjoy the fact that he delivered babies for 20 years. Makes his interest in politics seem more sincere to me.

Also I like that he was saying almost the same exact things about downsizing political programs and foreign policy when he ran in 88' so he has a lot of consistency in his views.

As of right now I'm for the Ron Paul R[evol]ution!

Been watching video clips of Paul. He speaks like a true Libertarian, not a Republican. The big-gubbamint repubs will never go for him; he believes in that pesky Constitution too much.

I'm voting for him in the R primary, not that it will matter much this time, but maybe he'll be more viable in 2012... Still don't know what I'm going to do in November. Leaning 3rd party at this point. Would consider Thompson if he wins the nomination.

Can you give us a little more on this comment....Agree with most
of the rest of this..but don't see the, what you called "disenchantment",
in our armed forces.

in talking with several of them, they are more pissed off at the Democrats for making their campaigns all about "bringing them home". Most have them would rather stay and finish their job than be the latest group to pulled back home too early because a bunch of weak-kneed politicians didn't have the balls to turn them loose to do what they came to do. Say what you want about Bush, but he's right about one thing at least. Let the generals fight the war, not the stuffed shirts (or blouses, if you will) in D.C.
