Nearing an HIV cure???

With the latest advances in treatment, doctors have discovered that they can successfully neutralise the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The so-called ‘combination therapy’ prevents HIV from mutating and spreading, allowing patients to rebuild their immune system to the same levels as the rest of the population.
Wow, this is pretty significant! Of course it's only one study, but the potential that it may have is quite incredible. It would be nice to see something come of all the money put into it.

I can see some of the evangelicals being outraged though that God has given us a potential cure to a disease meant to rid of us of those dern homosexuals! Oh, and millions of innocent non-homosexual Africans who are obviously sinners in some way in their view. (yes, that was sarcasm).

Pray tell, what evangelicals are you talking about? Jack VanImpe doesn't qualify, nor does that idiot Fred Phelps. Most of the money currently privately donated to African relief (including AIDS relief) is coming from Evangelical Churches and/or Catholic Charities. Despite what you think you know, most churches are getting beyond denominational differences and working together to provide for those in need. For instance, our church is working with Catholic Charities locally in providing aid to the Burmese and Darfurian refugees in our city, as well as hunger relief, medical missions, etc... in Africa and elsewhere in the world.

Agreed....it's nice to start seeing major denominations work together as opposed to spending their efforts on which group has the best softball team.

Although, there is still a bunch of work to be done!

Pat Robertson?
The great people at godhatesfags.com?

I don't have the time to search for them. Despite what I think I know, I know that a lot of people listen to Pat Robertson. A lot of people take him quite seriously. I also figured it would be much easier to lump all evangelicals in with the few that have those beliefs the same way you would with all muslims being terrorist.

Jones, I'm actually with you on this one. Most Evangelical and Catholic charities are NOW on the right side of this issue, but I do remember what Mr. Morphine is talking about. In the 80s/early 90s, when the AIDS crisis was at its peak, I recall a number of religious leaders shouting about how this was God's way of punishing homosexuals. I don't know if any still maintain this stance, but I remember it happening.

The church has softened its stance, mostly because American's got tired of "hating" so many damn people.

Had an interesting conversation with a friend of mine about "Focus on the Family". He told me he stopped listening to it because it kept making him so mad about the country's "problems" that it was affecting his home and faith.

I think people are just getting tired of hating so many damn people, especially since we have other people who hate us even more.

I think that Metallica said it best when they said "Kill 'Em All"
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

I haven't listened to Christian radio or watched any of the Christian tv crap in months. I rarely listen to talk radio at all anymore either. The final straw was finding out Hannity was doing fundraisers for Rudy G. He's so obsessed with beating Hillary that he's willing to compromise every principled position he holds to be sure the guy he thinks can beat her gets the Republican nomination. Sean, please shut up about abortion then, shut up about gay marriage, shut up about gun rights, just shut up.

Sorry, back on topic (sort of). "Issues" are rarely, if ever, mentioned from our pulpit. The only ones that are mentioned revolve around, "go help your neighbor, give to the poor, love your fellow humans"... It's quite nice.

I think Bill Hicks said it at least next best when he said "when they come up with a one-shot, no doubt cure for AIDS, there will be forking in the streets."

The availability of Tenvir-EM is now possible since there are many manufacturers who distribute these meds globally at a small fee or free shipping when you order in bulk. It’s now easy to get the drug at your own country or use a highly-rated internet drugstore to order your medications https://prepgeneric.com/catalog/tenvir-em-360-pills/ .
