Prepare for video with "dancing in the streets, flag burnings,
effigy burnings,.."

The message this sends to Islam and the rest of the
world is total defeat of the U.S. and will embolden
them evenfurther. Expect increases, not decreases, in violence
in Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine to start,..

Iran is already drooling, (Russian missles are arriving
there now) no one is stopping there quest for Nukes.

next target = Israel.

I believe the surrender panel will get my vote for the Neville Chamberlain "Peace in our time" award this year...

People getting into things bigger than them because they think they know more than someone else, then a bunch of people die, missions are accomplished and more people die. In the meantime, terrorist recruiting's at an all time high because no longer is the infidel big satan US an abstraction, but a machine with bullets and bombs in their backyard.

Idiots abound.

How so? We already took out Iraq's government. I don't recall Chamberlain's actions resulting in Hitler's imprisonment, conviction and death sentence.

They recommended diplomacy with Iran and Syria. You know the "death to Israel and the infidel" guys. The guys who have promised to nuke Israel as soon as they get their hands on a bomb. The guys who have then promised to come after us.

Here's my deal were I President. "You have 10 days to get all of your "unofficial" soldiers the hell out of Iraq or Damascus and Tehran are parking lots for the 4000 square mile amusement park we're building."

Israel could take care of Syria and Iran with its hands tied behind its back. I don't see the problem with opening communication with them.

We can solve this whole fiasco by just going to some other poor country and killing a bunch of people can't we?

Not what I'm saying at all, but we aren't going to solve it by capitulating to the likes of the Syrian and Iranian Dicktators either.

Seconded!

This commission is basically supporting "appeasement".
Which can only work with people that want to be appeased.
Iran & Syria aren't interested in that. Like bassjones says,
they're only interested in capitulation and the conversion
to their radical version of Islam.

So, what do we do? Stay there? Leave? Option 3?
What!

There's no good way to go about anything with this Iraq situation now. With something seemingly as simple as defeating Iraq, you would think that a plan, or some sort of plan would have been laid out for an exit strategy. I don't think they got past; A. Go in there and blow the crap out of them, yawn, and send in some ground troops. B. Get Saddam, and place a puppet government. C. Bring the troops home in a year.

Did they forget the ass backwards country they were taking over? Did they forget that there is still a minority of people that do not want us there and are more than willing to die for that cause? We can't leave with the country in shambles like that. This isn't Japan where they finally concede victory after a nuclear attack, this is a country that will never give up. sh*t, we could nuke them and they still wouldn't give up. And if the troops stay some of them will continue to die. The process will be long drawn out, and hopefully within a decade we will have made the place more stable and helped them build an army and police force to protect themselves. Ten years is a long time in the eyes of people that don't like Americans dying though...

if 10 years is too long, Bin Laden was right. We will be defeated and they will take over because we don't have the will to fight. How far will we go in appeasing these people?

People are pissed that people are dying because we still have not received a straight answer to, "why are we in Iraq again?"
