Nothing too controversial here.

Shows are edited until the last minute all the time.

That entire bit was a GIANT poke at Bush and Iraq and there is no question what they were referring too.

Frankly I like it better without the final line of dialogue. It certainly makes you pause for a moment to think.

My guess is the producers like it better that way too.

Hmm, interesting, I think its more effective without the line of dialogue. That and whenever the Three Years Later text hit the screen I lost my mind.
