For what?!?! For asian culture? I'm willing to bet I have more than you do in that dept., and I don't make that claim lightly or with any intention to back it up, so think what you will. Yes, I realize you've been over there and I haven't, so before we play that card...

And I also find your effort to curtail my simple joke a far greater example of self-righteousness.

Now, speaking of diminished respect.... nope, forget it (along with the remainder of this thread.)
If in any way rehashing a dead horse of a joke based on someone's culture is respectful, I offer my apology.

must have been the first, unless stereotypical humor ranks high on your list
Good luck finding a joke that's not making fun of someone or something or is not based on a stereotype. I find most white people and fat guy jokes hilarious, yet I am both.
And I'd suggest that self-righteousness manifests itself most strongly when one makes fun of others.
And what about when one makes fun of oneself? Or when one is in a group of friends and everyone is cracking on everyone else and just having fun?

I guess what I'm saying is I'd rather be a self-righteous prick (by your definition) and enjoy life with a laugh every now and again than to not have a sense of humor at all (or at least a very limited one) and poo poo those that do.

Btw, my apologies to Anderson and Anderson's mom for making fun of her and the completely made up stereotype that she is a whore who has slept with every male member of FWM.com...sometimes more than one at a time. That was insensitive of me. I also apologize to everyone on FWM.com who actually did think that Anderson's mom was a smelly pirate hooker because of things that I and others have written about her. I urge those others who have written about her in this detrimental manner to come forward as well and apologize to Anderson and Anderson's mom for the pain and psychological scarring we have obviously caused them over the past few years on this message board. I and (I believe) most of the other FWM.commers have never even met Mrs. Anderson in real life and I'm sure she is a lovely woman. I will say this though...her live chat webcam is kick*ss.

Seriously though, everyone just needs to lighten up and stop being offended by every little damn thing.

That's my non-PC .02 for the day.

And I'm sure the Fort Wayne transgendered old folks community found your Halloween costume extremely witty and erudite and in the most excellent of taste...

No...it was a costume....that I wore for.....wait for it....Halloween. It wasn't a f*cking political or social statement, way to have no point with that one.

Because it wasn't.

I liked your combo, topical, makes you think, and it probably went way over a lot of people's heads.

Where did I say you were a self-righteous prick? You appear to be the person making claims (re: the bolded part of your quote).
Seriously though, everyone just needs to lighten up and stop being offended by every little damn thing.
You mean as offended as some people in this thread have been in regards to my take on their words?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we were talking about humor, right? Not what day of the year it happens to be? Maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing that you dressed up like a member of the opposite sex because you found it funny and thought others would as well? Maybe it's just me, but I don't think that people who actually are cross-dressers in their regular lives do it because they think it will get a laugh; it's part of who they are, but at the same time I highly doubt that they (most of them anyway) really take offense at someone who makes a joke at their expense by wearing a dress and a wig. But here's a question, if transgendered people did take offense at non-transgendered people dressing up as members of the opposite sex for a joke (and I bet there are some that do), would the simple fact that's it's Halloween make it "alright" (in your mind) to make that joke anyway? Your quote up there just sounds like an excuse to partake in your own low-brow humor while you condemn others for their's. By the way, I found your costume quite funny.

What I'm saying is even if something wasn't meant to be a political or social statement it doesn't mean that someone isn't gonna take it that way. I seriously doubt that when The Hand of Poo started the whole "Asians switching Ls and Rs" thing on this thread he was meaning to make some sort of vast socio-political statement about Asians being too stupid to speak English right or whatever, I mean hell, everybody knows that Asians kick our ass at math so they can't be dumb, THoP was just trying to make a joke which other people found funny and joined in on.

I doubt that there's any joke or wise-crack that doesn't offend someone somewhere, people just need to grow thicker skins.

Political Correctness will be the death of us all.

My words weren't a take on anything. You and everyone else could've avoided them like I avoid every rehashed political idea that you sheep regurgitate from your pseudo avante-garde intellects. There, now I've given an unwanted opinion. Score: Rove-Rove (oops, I mean Love-Love.)

And by the way, while my sense of humor may never grace the pages of the New Yorker, I thought RINCOLN ROGS was funnier than f**k-all as well. So for everyone who thinks they're proving something by impugning my funny and/or refusing to mention me by name, go fry a kite.

This is so forking stupid.
