I agree with that somewhat. I would put ethnic conflict in as one of the main causes as well. I wouldn't say the quote is the dumbest ever, but even, for example, the Israel/Palestine conflict, in my opinion, is more about ethnicity than it is about religion. I think most people, particularly in the U.S. and the Muslim world, make it into a religious issue, when really its more about European colonists repressing the aboriginal population, and the ensuing backlash. But then again, that also puts it into the "border/resources" category as well.

bassjones wrote: Hatred is a result of a lack of knowledge. For a Christian to hate Jews and attempt to justify it biblically is a clear lack of knowledge. Jesus was Jewish. The 12 apostles were Jewish. 99% of the first leaders of the movement were Jewish.
I disagree here. I think an analysis of the holy books of the Christian/Jewish/Muslim branch of religion shows the perpetuation of a mutual hatred of each other. I'd say Martin Luther, for example, was pretty knowledgable regarding the bible and he wrote things such as "On Jews and their Lies" and "Against the Sabbatarians". In my estimation, the main point of the NT is anti-semitic, (or more appropriately, anti-Jewish - since semitism is an ethnic/linguistic term having nothing to do with religion, and interestingly, both Hebrew and Arab fall under this class), since to be a Jew is to reject Christ. The apostles obviously didn't reject Christ. The Talmud considers Christians and Muslims to be idol worshippers. Jewish holy writings also indicate they consider themselves "God's chosen people," which implies superiority. Obviously, the Koran's a little harsh on "infidels." Which is why I, personally, amongst other things, reject these religions as a bunch of hogwash and consider them a negative influence on the world.

Skipping about the last third of the posts, I'd just like to say that this quote, "It's pretty straightforward. Even Kissenger is saying we are heading towards a war between cultures," is right on...

With travel, trade and communication, physical barriers are falling and exposing cultures to eachother. Cultures clash.

Right on...when I look at America and see Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, Mormons, atheists, agnostics, and scientologists living in a country and getting along (most of the time), it gives me hope for the rest of the world. Of course it's going to take a lot of development in a lot of countries, but it will all come together.

Nice post Grindspine.

Which only happens when you have a secular government which respects religion. Most Arab states don't want this, they want Sharia.

this goes back to the whole Islam taking over the world stuff,
Dearborn, MI I believe they have this countries highest muslim population,
and does anyone know what the hell the free masons are. It baffles me that I know so little about such an influential group. ( so many presidents and singers of the Declaration of independence.
