I've heard from several people that the Back Door is re-opening. Anyone else hear anything about it? Fort Wayne needs a good all ages venue. I'm willing to do whatever I can to help out.

John you've always been an all ages advocate... and I just have to ask you WHY?

I've done a couple All Ages events and frankly the pukes could have cared less if the band was rocking or farting on snare drums.

I'll NEVER do an all ages event (outside of MMF).

But yes the Backdoor is opening again... Al knows more.

Yeah we are doing our CD Release there, from what I know you need to contact Joe Hopkins or Joe Benton (also works for Guitar Center).

Well I have much respect for those who work with the ALL AGES. While I agree they are some of the most stressful events to put on, and usually are not money makers, I still have a soft spot for the events.

I just wish more kids had respect for the people putting them on.

Can anyone provide some background info on this venue? I'm curious, I've never heard of the Back Door before.

Not to mention the fact that the comment has no relevance to the question asked. There is no way that a conclusion like that can be drawn considering NOTHING was said of the turnout for the shows promoted, only that the kids could care less about the music/band.

his response had no relevance to my original post. I'm talking about a new all ages venue and all he did was b*tch about kids. Go back to the bar. it doesn't matter he won't be at the at any of the shows anyway. Please don't be negative for no reason.

Ando acknowledged that you have been involved in all ages shows for a while.

He relayed his experience and frustration with them.

He asked why you are still giving this a shot after the experiences he (and others) have endured.

You were a douchebag to him.

maybe I mistook anderson's post. I really thought his reply was more or less saying "WHO GIVES A f**k" and my response "I DO" All ages shows bring unity and a feeling of community. Bar shows bring a sense of "I want to get messed up till this band actually sounds good." At all ages shows people come together with open minds to enjoy the music, hang out with friends and make new ones. I have absolutely no regrets from throwing the shows I did. When I have the opportunity to do so again, I will. I am tired of people automatically shutting the idea of an all ages venue down as soon as it comes up. How can you expect to get respect from the scene kids when all you are doing is waiting for a reason to shut things down. You get people together with different ideas, some things are going to happen. In my experiences I have seen a lot worse stuff go down at bar shows. The only reason people don't cry about it is because... it's ok they were just drunk, so we can forget about it tomorrow. But something happens at an all ages show let's bring it up every time someone is trying to get things started again. So, I beg EVERYONE... PLEASE Drop the negativity. THIS SITE IS HERE TO PROMOTE FORT WAYNE'S MUSIC SCENE not bring up every bad thing about it.
