I've been trying to set up a shoutcast for awhile to play nothing but local fort wayne music. I think I may have succeeded but I need someone to check.

first of all, you need winamp which you can download for free from winamp.com.
second, I don't have any "local" music playing right now seeing how I am just testing it. It really might just play half a song over and over or something, idk.

all i want to know is that if you go to this address you get asked to download something, you do so, and then winamp starts playing music.

go here; http://192.168.1.136:8000/listen.pls

thanks

That IP address looks like an internal IP assigned by a router. If that is the case, then no one outside the network is going to be able to access it. You probably want to find out what the IP address assigned by your ISP is and then port forward the shoucast to that internal IP in the router settings.....but this is all guesswork considering I don't know anything specific about your PC setup.

FWM used to be an online radio station so I have it all configured for it. I can try to track down my settings. We had modify a few things back then though. You need an outside IP address..that means a STATIC ip address...if you don't have an outside static address then you won't get it to work.
