Literally?

Post by bassjones »

In my attempt to keep up with Garr... My biggest annoyance... People who use literally when they mean figuratively.

i.e.
I literally flew across the room
I literally died when...
She literally weighed 1500 pounds

you get the idea.

Oh man. . .don't get me started on this one. There is this moron (legally diagnosed as such) who works as a janitor in my building. The guy constantly uses literally in instances where something could not have been construed as figuratively. This is just as bad, if not worse.

He doesn't get it, but I always say to him, "What? As opposed to figuratively?"

He's completely lost. The guy is the most functional retard I have ever met. Insane. Anyhow. . .thanks for adding this one.
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.

A guy I worked with used to always say "It's nothing out of the unordinary"... what the hell does that mean?

makes me want to drop a nucular bomb on dat ass.
This system cannot be reformed or voted out of office because reforms and elections do not challenge the fundamental causes of injustice.

It simply means that "it" is out of something ordinary. For example, Michael Jackson sharing his bed with a child is something that is nothing out of the unordinary.
