What you have not addressed, and which would turn this from a cheap gimmick to a amazing feat is...

What are you going to do once your there?

Stand and giggle? YAWN.

You need a plan, a plan to REALLY 'improv' this.

ACTUALLY HELP THE CUSTOMERS.

Or turn them over to *real* employees for help.

Therein lies the genius, and where you separate the sheep from the players.

That's what the NY group did...they tried to help the customers...I was thinking that is what the original plan was anyways. A group walks in with uniforms, goes around helping customers. Managers get pissy, floor employees think its funny...most customers don't even know the difference...

If you all waited and did this on the day after Thanksgiving it would be completely epic...although that would be a lot of angry customers...hmmmm...

Oh and as far as a fountain idea goes, how about getting a couple of remote controlled boats and have races with everyone else standing around placing bets and cheering on the racers.

Okay, well, beyond just helping customers, maybe it would be a good idea to have some plan clothes folks there too in order to stage some customer/employee interactions. "Employees" will be us.

Maybe, stage a fist fight with an "employee". (could lead to trouble)
Have a customer just totally cuss out an "employee." (make sure lots of kids are around)
Have someone on crutches and an "employee" kicks them out. (hahahahahaha)

We should gather at the Northcrest Pizza Hut at approximately 11:00am. We can discuss some of the scenes we will play out and start trickling everyone in over the hour from noon to 1:00pm.

We need more ideas for scenes to stage. And people to volunteer them.
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.

i think racing boats with people betting would be cool.

what about getting 20 or so people to just sit on the edge and everyone bring a newspaper, just sit and stare at it, dont change the page.

kind of like the freezes they did.

The boat race idea is cool. I also like the newspaper crew...both solid.

As for the "scenes" at Best Buy...I don't know...the longer people think about this, the more complex it is going to get. My vote is to just keep it simply. Flood Best Buy with employee look-alikes and try to group in certain areas and help customers. I think the fake fight, cussing out people (even if staged) or whatever else is just a bit much.

If it works out, we'll have 10-20 "employees" in the store and Best Buy management will go crazy. I wouldn't doubt them calling security or the police...and as long as no one is doing anything, it will be a smooth exit and escort out of the store...but those are just my thoughts...keep it simple!

One of the first rules of improv - K.I.S.S. - keep it simple stupid. I think this is our best course of action - especially with this being the first time we try anything.

The fistfight would lead to (at least) a disorderly conduct charge. People dressed as employees walking around helping customers would just generally freak out B.B. management. That's good times.

If we have enough people, we might send a few over to Circuit City (isn't that in Northcrest too?) and have them start referring C.C. customers over to Best Buy. That'd be pretty funny too.

OfficeMax...that's what is in Northcrest near Best Buy. CC is over behind McDonald's across from Glenbrook. There's a d*ck's over there (green polos and khakis :)

I agree...first time, KISS...and you know if this is semi-successful, we'll get more folks next time. Honestly, I'd love to see the "Best Buy group" flood CC...that could cause some good mayhem as well...something to do next time:)

I think trickling people into the store over an hour is way too long, especially if there is only 20 or so doing it. You could have people go in a minute or two apart and that would be plenty of time in between.

I like the idea of BB uniforms in Office Depot. Maybe we could do both in the same day. Go to BB and stand around and help a few people, then head over to OD and just stand at the end of the rows or in different areas and see what happens.
