Yeah, the no space thing is pretty annoying, although I don't see that very often at all...I mean really, you have to actually try not to hit the the spacebar...the caps lock could be accidental.

If I were to rate my messageboard pet peeves, I'd likely go:

1) People making a big deal about an obvious typo
2) People pointing out bad grammar
3) Bad Grammar
4) Typos
5) Caps Lock

I've opted to just sit back and wait to point out all levels of dumbassery in a mocking and condescending manner.

Excessive poor grammar below 5th grade writing level gets me. When it's just evident that the person is ignorant, I get disturbed because it pains me to read those jumbled, horrid thoughts. While I support free speech, I also support lucid thought and clear, concise expression of ideas.

Typos don't bother me. I poke fun of them, but I understand typos.

I don't, however, believe that using the wrong there, their, or they're or the wrong your or you're or even to, two, or too are typos. Maybe on to/too, because you could easily miss that extra o.

Despite my helpful and caring exterior.

I am in the hopes that Silencio will pick up the slack in sharing my duties as another 'grumpy old man'.

He's paid his dues and is eligible for G.O.M. status.

I poke fun of them...

Don't you mean, "at"?

Dude, when have I failed to do this?

Seriously, I only post about 1/20th of what I think. :D

getting mad at anything on a message board other than ignorance is dumb.

you need to put the internet down now sir.

being awesome and posting something making the person look like a fool, is ok though.

Do you remember when kids were typing in this "every other letter capped" thing?

"hEy To AlL mY hOmIeS oUt ThErE, a bIg sHoUtOuT, nUtHiN' bUt lOvE..."

I mean, it's really hard to do. I can understand typing with no caps or punctuation, but that sh*t was difficult.

No, I don't mean at. If I meant at, I would have said at. I think that I can choose how I use my prepositions. I combined the two concepts of making fun of something and poking fun at something into a new amalgam that was stated precisely how I chose. :)

Yes, I did mean at. By mistake I said "of", so now I am backtracking to make it seem as if I did it on purpose. Hopefully by posting this I can avoid people making fun of me or poking fun at me. I then decided to use a word like "amalgam" so I'll sound more intelligent, therefore discouraging any further ridicule. :)

There's little prepositional choice (and none in this case): it's almost always an agreement issue. One "pokes at," one does not "poke of."

"Johnny, stop poking of your food."

"Never poke of a hornet's nest with a stick."

"You know, middle of the afternoon, when your hunger's pokin' of ya, pokin' of ya..."
