ride your bike as often as possible. carpool as often as possible. regardless of how far away you are from a destination, you can always get there in a decent amount of time by riding your bike if you plan ahead. i live behind georgetown and my girlfriend lives right by southside highschool. it takes me only 25-30 minutes to ride there, and it would take me at least 15 to drive there. not really that much of a difference, really, and the amount of money i save in gas is definitely worth it.

Ever tried to ride several miles to work in casual business attire?

Nothing better than a sweat-soaked pair of Dockers and Oxford button-down shirt to make an impression on a client.

Maybe I could strap a small carry-on suitcase to my back and carry my clothes with me to change into when I get to work.

My freshly wrinkled clothes on my newly sweaty person. Without a shower. All day.

So, um....yeah, I wont be riding a bike to work.

Ever.

You make a good point, and I suppose besides the weather, that is my other concern, personally.

Your girlfriend may like the smell of your sweaty sac after riding for 25 minutes, but I don't think my co-workers would appreciate it.

if I take a brief cooking job while waiting on an opening in my field, I will definatly ride a bike. but the moment I have to throw my tie back on I ditch the bike.

well obviously if you have to wear business attire, riding your bike isn't an option. i was just saying, any chance that you have to ride, to take it. quite a few people on edge, huh?

As well if you are wearing business attire then the gas prices are most likely irrelevant because you have money...:)

I think that we can ALL agree on one thing on these boards...THE GAS PRICES SUCK...:)

Chris

P.S. This could be a first in FWM history...lol.

even though i don't post a lot, i've looked at these boards for a few years. someone will find a way to disagree with what you just said.
