HELP! Suggestions needed...

Post by The_Dude »

Okay...so I'm doing this whole MDA benefit raffle thing, and I'm having a huge brain fart. I've come up with about 55 local businesses and I'm having a hell of a time coming up with more. I know they're out there...

So...start naming 'em up. What local businesses should I hit up to donate a gift certificate or in-store credit 'n such?

GO!

Um....all of them?

I suggest a trip through the paper, or a listen to radio and TV.

The people that advertise, and recognize the value of that advertising, are the type most likely to invest in a certificate for your fundraiser to generate goodwill and exposure.

Just my .02.

Oh and new businesses too...Jimmy Johns comes to mind--others??

Well I don't visit ALL local businesses. I'm printing off individual letters for each business and have only printed the ones I could think of. I visited 25 different places on Saturday and I know that's not even the tip of the iceberg. Like I said, I know they're out there, I just don't visit alot of them (and some of you do) so name drops are really what I'm looking for.

Radio Stations can be a good source.

Restaurants are a BIG plus. You will want to try the ones that locally can decide on giving out gift certificates. Pizza Hut, O'Charlies.

You could also try the laser tag places. They are pretty good at helping out.

You could try the new Garnos. They might want to help get there name back out there.

The zoo might help as well.

You could try the Harley Stores.

Maybe Boudoir Noir?

If I think of more, I'll let you know.

From past experience Applebee's and Pizza Hut will almost always donate gift certificates. Also, check out local coffee shops, gas stations, food establishments. Skip Wal-mart as you have to send something to them a couple of months ahead of time(unless you have the time).
d*ck's sporting goods will usually give something and Logan's steakhouse might.
Tanning establishments, beauty salons and Bath & Body shops can usually give gift certs or baskets filled with products.

Okay, I'm running out of ideas. Hope this helps.
